I feel like the free content is priming players for a subscription model

All these free content updates are nice and all, and maybe this is kind off a ”conspiracy”, but I can totally see EA giving this stuff for free so they can later on implement a subscription model where you pay a monthly fee for monthly new content.

There likely isn’t going to be new DLC, the marketplace doesn’t seem to succeed like they hoped, so the next (imo obvious) paid content model they could try is an optional subscription where you’re guaranteed x amount of stuff monthly.

So my theory is they are giving free ”packs of content” now to get people exited and hooked and used to getting regular new content and then they’ll paywall it.

That’s all :D

About other sims inviting to parties and events

I recently (as in last few weeks) started getting all these invites by other sims to join birthday parties and other events. Most recently my sim in the entertainment career got a promotion and her co-workers and friends invited her to a bar to ”celebrate promotion”. Also a random sim just texted me ”hey i got a baby and i’m lost could you come over to help”. Unfortunately I skipped that invite so I don’t know what would’ve happened, but I was super surprised the birthdays actually was a whole thing. I mean they had a caterer, a hired entertainer, a cake and at the end the birthday sim blew candles and aged up.

Was this added in a new update or something? I remember years ago I was invited to a birthday but it didn’t work and after that I never got another invite haha. It’s really fun- not sure if others have had these all this time though?
