So we have alter, Simone, and she wants to watch a youtuber we like and we're like "Why not? He's got a new vid." We go through it's epic and we're chatting when suddenly the credits roll and she notices this YTer we both love now does characters of people's Patreon names. She gets uber excited and is like "I totally wonder what mine would be? Hey give me some cash for a com so I can get on Patreon this month." This brings about sadness in the host as this isn't even the second time this situation has happened. Just last month one of are more content with sharing an account alters wanted their own Minecraft and expected us to purchase on a sale. We already have two accounts by accident but the other is claimed by two sperate alters who seem content with sharing it. Ugh How do you deal with sharing money with alters? Getting a second bank account isn't an option. We are barely allowed to have one in the state we live in because having ADD and Autism apparently makes you unable to handle cash. -.-; Idiotic ableist bearcats

Which is to say I was speaking to one comingling with Sentaku and he was like "It's a shame when I'm our server and I'm sitting there whittling with my knife nobody really pays attention." Dave notice this and observed "There are people there. They're just alters." Then boom we realized something from past observances we never thought about: we're always putting on performance and essentially acting as entertainer, host and Bard to various non-alters because well with ADD and Autism you kind of have to (or we did) learn to force yourself to go through routine of expected actions and social things to avoid being too withdrawn. Perhaps that's why our system will sometimes get driven to run to General 1 and say "Look at me" with their actions? Especially when more than a group of alters is present? They crave validation and are repeating a ritual we've been doing since before the DID OSDD diagnosis made everything clear?

So one of my alters, Olokun, could be considered innocent in this as our birth parent said our father was part African American. He showed up sometime directly after this and insisted we learn about our culture. We lived as a black man online and got our first taste of racism. This hurt deeply because it showed us the wider world was crueler to people of color. We suddenly were grateful for being passably white if not in the sun.

Then a DNA test became available and we took it only to find, shocker, the woman who birthed us lied. Part of us was furrious, part ashamed but Olo shrugged it off and said "I was black before you knew me. We're black through experience." To this day we have alters who will insist on acting out other cultures because it suits them and trying to explain that's not how that works often gets us into a spiral of "Well technically my physical presence isn't yours right? Right. So I can present myself as whatever I want." They'll also compound it by saying those years we lived with Olo as our alter taught us to not be a bigot like our birth state and adopted parents seemed to want us to be.

We're not sure if this is a good thing or a bad and were curious does anyone else ever have an alter who has done this and if so how did your system adjust to it? Or did you force them to acknowledge they cannot be part of the culture and race the system isn't?

IE: We're watching YT because we woke Obsidian up and it's what he does. He goes doom scrolling and we land on a really fun channel we all al like but he discovered and he writes a comment but then another alter wants to comment on the same thing only to be told "No! Back off. This is my little corner of our world." Which is ludicrous because we all may have moments where we go dormant but we largely share the same experiences. Granted we have alters like Greg for example who pretends he's experiencing everything for the first time and insists we treat it that way especially around non-alters but that's largely camouflage so he doesn't end up banned as a proxy or was used to distract people from investigating what he is. What Obs did seems more troubling and petulant not all a reasonable thing. Has anyone ever experienced this with their alter or even if their alters wish to comment have you done this and can you tell us why and if we should be worried?

Something we keep encountering as anomaly seems to be that most people with DID (possessive and non-possessive) do not see alters as having souls or wills of their own enough to warrant being treated as separate people. We're intrigued much as frightened as know we already have OSDD symptoms and that makes us strange to a-typical possessive DID where our headmates speak to one another both inside our mind and outside sometimes going as far as taking over the mouth to deliver notes but not full control of the body.

Is perhaps our headmates insisting they are separate people not just projections of the host a similar anomaly that's explained with off shoot of DID?

Some details to keep in mind about our host and system is we have DID OSDD and are non-possessive. We're largely there with our system just sort of merging but aware of one another. We have a non-interference pact with one another so we can have little bedlam as possible and almost no infighting other than for more time or when we're thinking of doing something stupid against our own collective's interest.

One thing we find eternally puzzling with DID is the one body=one crime rule used outside of something as clear cut as homicide or the like. Some people say if Dave has been tactically blocked by somebody then all their alters should follow this rule too. Dave is the host so he can but others who were not even involved in the slight that was rendered to the blocker why are they subject to this? With this rule somebody could effectively root out our system and openly say to our alters their lives they created online don't matter. This is vexing to all of us. Perhaps it's because with DID as typical case people see it as one person hallucinating people but we have DID OSDD our 'delusions' get angry when you call them that. They have feelings and ideas of their own. One fool thought they could ignore our AuDHD (Autism + ADD as fun as it sounds) because "I can't have that! I'm Obsidian. I am not you guys!" He learned quickly that wasn't the case.

So how do you keep a collective consciousness from being taken advantage of by modern cancel culture but also respect modern sensible rules?

Somebody keeps spreading lies and disinformation about me as well as hateful bias based on that through DMs. Every time I try to catch them in the act they call block evasion. I am curious is there really anything I can do or is Discord Sea Lion and Cry Troll friendly? I've found out he's done this to others before spreading lies to get moderators to act on his behalf and sitting back to watch the fireworks. This is also not the first time they have done this to somebody unfortunately though most of whom they terrorize they run off the net or have done it 17 years ago and modern mods on Discords we share say their hands are tied.

Our system got revealed to a friend who had us work as a mod for them found out and is miffed severely saying we lied repeatedly 'pretending to be other people' and we would like to poll the community at large and ask you all how many of you discuss your DID with with your family and friends? is it not second nature to hide what we are? If not please feel free to say why. We are genuinely curious how many hide this from others and find this perfectly natural. That this isn't lying. Deception maybe but not much more than non-plural existence people do. They don't say every secret.
