mattress for hot sleepers that won't turn my room into a furnace every single night

i have been waking up soaked in sweat at 3 am every single night for the last month and i am completely over it. my current memory foam bed acts like a giant heat sponge that traps every bit of body warmth, so even with the ac blasting and a fan right next to my face i still end up kicking off all my blankets and shivering ten minutes later.

my roommate told me to look into a hybrid like dreamcloud since the coil layer supposedly lets air circulate a lot better than pure foam, but i am still a bit skeptical if the top pillow top layer retains heat. i just want something genuinely breathable that doesn't feel like sleeping on a heated pad.

budget is around a grand and i really need something that stays at a neutral temperature all night

Living alone has completely changed how I define a "productive" day

A few years ago, I would've said a productive day meant getting a ton of things done. Now, if I grocery shop, clean the bathroom, cook dinner, and remember to water the plant that's somehow still alive, I call that a solid day.

It's weird how your definition of success shifts when you're the only person keeping the place running. Nobody notices if you skip a chore... except future you, who's somehow always annoyed about it. Has living alone changed your standards for what counts as a good day?
