ECB Bikaner Civil vs JECRC Foundation — should I actually choose ECB?

Hey everyone, I need some genuine advice because I’m currently stuck between Engineering College Bikaner (ECB) – Civil Engineering and JECRC Foundation, Jaipur – Civil Engineering.
I’m from around the Jaipur area and have already completed physical reporting at ECB. My fees/admission situation is also basically sorted, so this isn’t really about which one is cheaper.
My main concern is whether ECB is actually worth choosing over JECRC for me.
My long-term aim is mainly government jobs/competitive exams (JE/AE, GATE, RPSC/SSC/RRB-type exams, etc.), so I’m not particularly concerned about private placements. What matters more to me is having a decent college degree while also getting enough time and a good environment to prepare seriously.
I visited ECB and, honestly, coming from the Jaipur side, I felt a little unsure about the environment. It felt quite different from what I’m used to. I’m not trying to disrespect Bikaner or ECB—I’m just worried about whether I’ll be able to adjust there and stay motivated for four years.
So I want to ask people who actually know these colleges:
About ECB:
How is Civil Engineering at ECB specifically?
How are the Civil faculty and academics?
How strict is attendance?
Is the workload manageable enough to prepare for government exams?
Is there a good study environment/library?
Do many students prepare for GATE/JE/AE/RPSC/SSC/RRB etc.?
Are seniors helpful if someone wants to prepare for government exams?
How is hostel life and the overall student environment?
Is Bikaner difficult to adjust to if you’re coming from Jaipur?
How often do students realistically go home to Jaipur?
Is the college/campus life so dull that it starts affecting motivation?
And the BIG question:
If you were in my position — Civil Engineering, from Jaipur, government-job focused, and with both options already available — would you choose ECB Bikaner or JECRC Foundation? And WHY?
I’m not asking which college has better placements because that’s not my priority.
I want to know which college would give me the better overall 4-year experience + Civil academics + time/environment for government exam preparation.
If you have studied at either college, please give me the unfiltered answer, including the negatives. If you had the same choice again, what would you pick?
Also, are there any students from the Jaipur/JPR area joining ECB this year? Would be great to connect.
Thanks 🙏

Should I choose ECB Bikaner or JECRC Foundation for Civil Engineering? I’m worried about the environment.

I’m trying to decide between ECB Bikaner and JECRC Foundation, Jaipur for Civil Engineering, and I’m really confused.
Academically, a lot of people recommend ECB because it’s a government college, has lower fees, and is considered a good option for Civil. But when I looked at photos of the campus online, it honestly gave me a “typical old government school” vibe. Some parts looked quite old and not very well maintained.
I’m worried that the overall environment might affect my motivation. I also don’t know what the student crowd is like. Are the students there ambitious and hardworking, or do most people just attend classes and leave? I know every college has a mix of students, but I’d like to know what the general atmosphere is.
On the other hand, JECRC Foundation seems to have a much better campus and student life, but it’s a private college and the fees are much higher.
For those who have studied at ECB Bikaner (especially Civil Engineering) or know someone who has:
What’s the actual campus environment like?
Is the Civil department good?
How are the professors?
What’s the student crowd like?
If you had the choice again, would you still choose ECB over JECRC Foundation?
I’d really appreciate honest opinions from current students or alumni rather than just placement statistics.
Thanks in advance!

REAP 2026 | SC Rank 1065 | Currently allotted SKIT Civil | Chances for MBM/CTAE/Ajmer/Bikaner in Upward Movement?

I’m participating in REAP 2026 and I’ve already been allotted SKIT Jaipur – Civil Engineering in Round 6. I’ve applied for Upward Movement-I.
My SC Merit Rank is 1065.
My preference order is:
MBM Jodhpur – CSE
MBM Jodhpur – AI & Data Science
MBM Jodhpur – Civil
CTAE Udaipur – Civil
Government Engineering College Ajmer – Civil
Government Engineering College Bikaner – Civil
JECRC – Civil
SKIT – Civil (current allotment)
I have a few questions:
Do I have any realistic chance of getting MBM Civil?
What are my chances for CTAE Civil? And i only want civil just filled CSE i thought what if i got those not interested btw and Are Government Engineering College Ajmer or Government Engineering College Bikaner likely in Upward Movement-I or II?
If you’ve participated in REAP before, how much movement usually happens in the last two rounds?
Please give an honest opinion based on previous REAP counselling. I’m not looking for false hope—I just want a realistic assessment.
Thanks!
