Rajasthan’s Language Rights: Supreme Court Steps In

When children learn in their mother tongue, they don’t just study , they inherit a living culture.”

On 12 May 2026, the Supreme Court directed the Rajasthan government to formulate a policy introducing the Rajasthani language as both a medium of instruction and a compulsory subject in all schools.

This decision is more than a legal directive ,it is a cultural awakening. By bringing Rajasthani into schools, Rajasthan is not just teaching a language, it is safeguarding the soul of its people for generations to come.

25, graduate from fine engineering college of my country in CS , cleared the civil services exam, joining government job in November — how do I use this transition window without wasting it or burning out?

I'm at an interesting life juncture and want honest perspective from people who've navigated similar transitions

Context: I'm 25, live in rajasthan, after graduation spent 3 years preparing for civil services. Cleared it, and now being recruited as a Group A Gazetted officer (Assistant Director at a central government organisation), Joining is around November

It is basically the first time after a long time where I am feeling the taste of freedom and the 3 years of isolated preparation had just paused my social life completely and I believe I haven't even properly adulted as compared to my peers

The gap between now and November is a genuine window : maybe 3-4 months — where I'm not bound by exam pressure or job demands. I want to use it well but I'm also coming out of 3 years of very structured, high-pressure preparation and finding that unstructured freedom is oddly difficult to navigate.

Things pulling at me:

- Want to travel seriously and expand cultural exposure

- Want to level up running and physical fitness

- Want to build better social connections after years of isolation

Questions:

  1. How to structure a transition period productively without imposing exam-like pressure on yourself?
  2. What's the one thing you wish you'd done differently in a similar free window?

Any real honest perspectives on would be a great help

Daughter gets killed by father unknowingly

I recently came across a tragic incident where a farmer accidentally ran over his own 2 years old daughter while driving a tractor in the field. From what was reported from my aunt, the father didn’t even realize the child had somehow come into the tractor’s path, and she died on the spot.

What I genuinely don’t understand is that why was a 2 years old even near an active farming area with heavy machinery operating?

I’m not trying to blame grieving parents, because this is obviously devastating beyond words. But tractors, harvesters, and farm equipment are extremely dangerous even for adults. A toddler can move unpredictably in seconds.

Is this common in rural areas because there’s nobody else at home to watch children while parents work? Or is it more about how normalized it has become for kids to stay around fields and machinery?

It’s just heartbreaking to think that a moment of missing supervision can end in something irreversible like this.

Where can I donate my clothes in my city?

Hey everyone!

I have lots of tops, dresses, jeans, hoodies and sweaters sitting in my closet in great condition that I’d like to donate instead of throwing away. Does anyone know any NGOs, shelters, orphanages, or places in or around hanumangarh and ganganagar that accept clothes donations?

all clothes are washed and perfectly usable ,most i have only worn twice or thrice as i don't go out much. I'm looking for places where they’ll actually reach people who need them.

I know about ' neki ki diwar' but last week i saw the one in Nohar and it was in filthy condition.the donations were just lying on the road and were completely ruined by dust and filth. It looked like no one was taking them so i don't wanna do that.

Thanks in advance!
