Microphone issue solved with update 1.0.08.BD

The single most annoying software bug has for me been that the sound from the microphone in the car was so horrible that it was not possible to do telephone calls.
I have consistently switched to my AirPods every time I hade to do a phone call in the car.
Commuting several hours a day, where I normally do most of my phone calls, both private and business, it’s been a daily bummer.

Today I did the OTA update and after I can now say the microphone audio issue has been addressed and it is working fine.

Yeah!!

Have a great weekend everyone!

My 6e almost went up flames

Yesterday I picked up my car at a workshop.
It had been in for a small parking dent.
Nothing major, just a bit of paintwork.

As I drove off from the workshop, I shortly after noticed the camera in the right mirror did not work. I had to be somewhere so I decided I would try an infotainment reset when I arrived. That fixed the issue so I’m assuming it just a software bug due to camera maybe had been disconnected during the work they did. I then started driving home. Quickly thereafter I noticed the left indicator was blinking fast, so I realised one of the indicators must not be working. Drove through the center of Copenhagen during rush hour so not the optimal place to stop and investigate. Decided to keep going and investigate at a gas station outside the city center. After about 5km I heard a weird squeaking sound which I couldn’t really locate where came from. Thought it was something from the podcast I was listening to.
Then a few minutes later, I was decelerating due to traffic and when I came to around 10kph the rear brakes locked up. It was really scary and I did not understand what was going on. I then looked in the mirrors and there was heavy smoke everywhere.
I exited the car in one of the most heavily trafficked roads in Copenhagen and went to the side of the road. I could see the smoke was coming mostly from the rear wheel arches. I the looked a bit closer and saw small flames inside the wheel coming from the brakes.
Luckily, the flames went out by them selves after a minute or so, since I did not have a fire extinguisher in the car.
The smoke stopped after a few more minutes.

When walking around the car I realised the whole left rear light was out. Both rear light and indicator.

I have no idea what the workshop did to my car, but I definitely never had any of those kind issues before.

I’m really worried about my car now. When the smoke had stopped and I had to leave the car, I picked up some stuff I had left behind. But the interior of the car smelled absolutely horrible from the smoke damage.

Mazda assistance was great.
They arranged for the car to be taken to a workshop, arranged a rental car, and paid for a cap to pick it up. All within a short timeframe.

ADHD Taxation

So today I got a parking fine.
It’s my second this week, in the parking lot of my workplace.
And my fourth, counting other locations, this year to date.

Normally, I have a fixed parking permit for my car where I work. But this week I drove a rental car as my own was in for repairs.
Here, like the two other occasions, I could easily have avoided the fine by simply making a guest parking registration by scanning the QR code right inside the door of our office.
but despite me thinking about it when I drove to the office (numerous times), and as well when I got out of the car, it just simply vanished from my mind during the 30 second walk into the office.

The price? Approx. 140$ per Fine.

I’m just so tired of missing things!

But it also leads me to think what all of you experience of ADHD tax, where you end up paying for things you could simply have avoided, but forgot?
