Need help troubleshooting LS VTEC not engaging VTEC
The car in question is a 1998 Acura Integra with a LS VTEC engine built with a B16A2 head & B18B1 engine block. Car drives fine but it doesn’t engage VTEC. Here’s what I’ve tried:
- I tested the solenoid with a jump pack sending power to the 1 pin solenoid connector and the ground to chassis. I confirmed the solenoid is clicking when powered.
- I took some data logs with Hondata and confirmed the VTEC oil pressure switch is disabled and the ECU is sending a VTS signal when the requirements for VTEC are satisfied.
- I checked the continuity between the wire found on ECU pin A4 and the 1 pin VTEC solenoid connector and confirmed continuity with a multimeter.
- I took the solenoid off the engine and checked the screens and they were clear and free of debris - also it dumped oil when I removed the solenoid so that’s a sign that it was getting oil pressure.
At this point I am pretty stumped and I’m hoping someone in the community has encountered something similar to my problem and knows the answer.

Gas Blowback M4 Rifle by KJW. Its in good condition, all its needs is a dusting off and it will be ready for the field. Cycles good and doesn't jam. I am including 4 additional magazines from KJW which are also in good condition. They are scratched up, but are fully functional and do not leak gas. I am also including the speed loader and sling. I am asking for 475$
Gas Blowback M9 Pistol by Matrix. This gun doesn't have the original magazine from the box, and has a aftermarket magazine. This pistol doesn’t fire correctly, my suspicion is the magazine. The orange barrel tip has broken off unfortunately. I’m asking 75$
The BBs I have are .20g & .28g - I don't need them, asking 10$ Facemask doesn't have any tears rips or imperfections, asking 5$.
Entire collection can be bought at one price for 525$
All items are located in Aiken SC

Cannot rev past 5.5K RPM & a odd scraping noise
Does anyone know what would cause the rpm to cap out at 5.5RPM? I was in the garage sitting still in Neutral. Also the scraping noise is in the second half of the video. I think it started happening after I was reving the engine to see why it didn’t rev higher.

Raising Ride Height Question
I’m trying to raise the ride height on my car and I am wondering if I left enough threads on the shock mount to be safe. Instructions say 25mm is the minimum and I measure where it’s at now at 32mm of threads in the mount. However you can see the bottom of the shock through the window here.

Need help with setting idle on Hondata
I took a video of what the car is doing. Essentially it’s holding at 1500 rpm at idle. In the video I slightly pressed the gas to hold it at 2500 rpm, and then I let go of the gas and the whole car shutters also to 750 rpm and then climbs back up to 1500 rpm.
So far I have it on a stock ITR base tune with the TPS calibrated using Hondata s300.
Need help before I take the car to the dyno.

Oil leak near transmission
I am trying to figure out where this leak is coming from. I noticed oil piling up on the flywheel inspection cover plate and on the bottom of the transmission. I cannot tell if I’m leaking transmission fluid or motor oil.
I’m posting here to see if anyone has had this same leak and if they figured out the culprit.
