Tried something different sizing wise on these forma last Tobacco Snakebite
I have been buying 11.5EE on the formal last, but in reality I’m closer to an E width. End result of that is I end up with a lot of extra space on the inside arch of the boot. Soooo for this round I decided to try a D width, since for me the width I need is really in the toes , and of course the high instep. This last is pretty roomy in the toes, so not surprisingly it worked just fine, a little snug in the waist but I’m sure that will be fine after break in. I will definitely have to wear thinner socks for these, but for this type of boot I would prefer to anyway, . I don’t know that this would work on some of the stiffer, more rigid leathers, but at least for some leathers, there’s one less 11.5EE to compete with. These are some good looking boots, and of the service boots I’ve personally seen, or even most in photos, I find the Truman offering to be one of the most visually attractive , and more comfortable than the others I have tried.
Natural Minerva Edward
Reserved for nights out as direct exposure during daylight may cause permanent retinal damage. You have been warned ! I would like to see this come back one of these days, and the natural kangaroo.
There’s some pretty interesting seconds up this morning
The problem is if you have some of the high level discounts, it may be cheaper to just wait and order an MTO if they come back around. I guess it depends how patient you are, and how much you like the boot as it sits. I really like the plain toe work last, if only it were half a size larger. That will be what I order next… come on horses.
Truman and Grant Stone FlintStone boots for sale
I accept Paypal only, all prices include shipping to USA destinations but if you use Paypal G&S fees are on you. All boots include original boxes. All purchased from manufacturer, no B-Grades, or factory seconds. These two pairs of boots are just to big for me, I’m over the days of inserts and forced giant socks to make it work. My loss is your gain, side by side the feel like they are the exact same size, with the Grant Stone have more volume in the toes, and instep. Prices are firm.

Roos
It’s Africa hot out here these days! The Roos handle the heat well, but the dye on the welt/mid sole is fading fast, one boot more than the other. Think I will wait until I need resole to bother, or maybe I can just do it myself.
These are my favorite pair of boots currently
I don’t have 100’s like some of the Boot Loops :) , but of my 30ish pairs, these are my favorite. Do they fit the best, sort of… could be a bit tighter on the inside of the foot. I do really like the Eugene sole though, not because Eugene OR left a lasting impression on me, because it did. I just find them very comfortable for daily tasks. I do like the last, I like the shape of the boot, I like what the laces do to the tongue. The leather is super soft, which is good, and bad depending on what you want. the previous favorite was the Grant Stone Brass boot in Tan Essex, so similar in suppleness of the leather, but extreme opposite direction in appearance. We will see how long these hold the crown, but for now they aren’t perfect, as no boot is, but they are my favorite pair of boots. Sydney is not amused by any of this, as long as the boots can kick the ball, and walk her for miles, they are her favorite too..
Brown Double Shot Formal Last
Feeling Blue?
These things come with boot bags, and two sets of black laces (leather, round). Haven’t decided if I want to keep them yet, may just return them. I really find this last to be narrow for my foot … decisions decisions … also puppies not included.
Color 8 CXL
What’s not to love about this color… just pops. I still don’t wear these much at all, typically reserved for nights out although i know they look great beat up. It’s gonna take a long time for me to get there with these redish purpleish beauties.
Came to my senses …
After a brief 24 hours of weakness I have regained my sanity, and decided not to sell these sexy motherf$^*ng boots. Damn these are striking in person, if you’ve never seen them you just don’t know. I just need to put in the work to break in the leather soles, and man up ! These have to be some of the best looking service boots out there.
Diesel Boots - Black CXL - Leather Soles
The whole visible vein thing…
I wasn’t sure if I liked it initially, but it’s kind of bad ass. Just saying … leather is fascinating !

It’s true I photograph the boot of the day while walking the dogs.
Unfortunately I only have a few pairs of Truman’s but I love them just the same. Brown Double Shot , formal last.
For those of you into photography , the best time to photograph anything outdoors
to capture color accurately is on a sunny day when the clouds pass in front of the sun to diffuse the light. This will give you most accurate color, you could also use a white sheet as a diffuser, this works especially well for most subjects. Anyway, Essex is very hard to photograph, this I believe is the most accurate photo I’ve gotten of the actual color, at least on the pair that has the most wear. I’m tempted to wear a new boot, and one of these together so you can see the difference a year and half makes. In person it’s quite noticeable, but hard to pick up in a photo, unless I wear them together, and get the good light. This leather is super soft, I can put these boots upper to upper, and push them together and throw them in my suitcase. They will bounce right back after unpacking. My favs …
Brass Boot Tan Essex
It’s a gray day today
How about some Storm Kudu Ottawas. Of course with my usual baggy jeans, the skinny jeans get to much love :)
As expected , sesame double shot - formal last
with the ridgeway sole. Luckily for my wallet all the 11.5EE’s are already gone.
Overcast Crazy Cow in the wild
Ironically on an overcast day of crazy weather.
Embracing The Brown
I’m not a huge fan of brown boots, which makes no sense considering some of the brown boots I have purchased. Needless to say most of those have ended up for sale, and some are already gone. These remain, Brass Boots in Light Espresso Raleigh aka 'Dukey Brown'. They do look good with some green pants, or darker denim with the right outfit. I know you cannot see the camo pants, because ahhh camouflage, but I am wearing pants, I promise.
Essex B-Grade lottery
I went back and forth for days about purchasing these B-grade Essex Diesel boots during the 4th sale. Of course after the sale was over, they were still in my cart, and the price wasn’t adjusted so I said YOLO! This is my favorite leather to date, I love the vibrance. I have purchased B-Grades before, and I was never able to see the issue. With these you can clearly see it, on the uppers you can see the grain in leather, it’s not smooth like the lower panels. You can kind of see it on the closeup photos, but luckily for me 90 percent of the time my pants are hanging over that anyway, and it’s not like 99 percent of the people I see daily will even notice it. Gotta be realistic , I paid 208 dollars for a well made boot, regardless of defects it was worth every penny.
