Rotisserie Chicken While Camping

Check out the Auspit going in the background with a whole chicken on the rotisserie over the fire.

Had it running alongside a simple setup with a foldable grill holding foil-wrapped spuds and a few extras over the coals. Once the fire was right it was all pretty easy, just let the Auspit do its thing turning the chicken and taking the work off our hands.

It was great. Having the food cooking without needing to stand over it the whole time, and getting that charcoal chicken flavour we all love made it a great campsite meal.

Before & After The Smoke

After spending the day in a Texas Offset Smoker, this is what our beef ribs and sausages looked like. Pretty happy with the result.

Around 20kg of chicken and lamb on the spit

This one was a bit bigger. Still got crispy edges, a juicy centre, and that proper charcoal flavour you only get from cooking it low and steady over the coals. Pretty happy with how this one turned out. What do you think?

Pretty happy with how this chicken gyros turned out. Crispy edges, heaps of flavour and sliced straight off the spit.
