2025 GMC Acadia Lemon Law Advice

Purchased in Tampa, Florida just fyi if that helps.

So my 2025 Acadia AT4 (bought brand new April 2025) had an upper radiator hose at 19k miles and we took it in for repair in January of this year. We were told the part was on federal back-order but the car was safe to drive. We were sent home with the car and told to fill it with coolant as needed. The car started going into limp mode occasionally and so we took it back in again. They said the limp mode was caused by the upper radiator hose throwing codes and telling the computer it’s unsafe to drive. Then the wifi/onstar goes out so we take the car in a second time. This time they keep the vehicle for 29 days for safety reasons. We filed a complaint with GM and they offered us either a A) extended warranty (which I already purchased 🙄) or B) up to $5k voucher to use towards a new GM vehicle. It just feels like a slap in the face, especially considering they probably should’ve kept the car the first time, but instead told me to go home and maintain it with my own money. Also considering that we bought the car new, $5k wouldn’t even cover the depreciation value that we’ve already lost in the car after owning it for a year and it now having 33k miles on it. We asked for a repurchase or even a trade but they declined that.

Should I just give GM the middle finger and contact the BBB to Lemon Law it? Do I even have a good case for that?

To be clear, I’m not automatically assuming it even qualifies for that. Just curious if that is a better route for us or if we should just take the $1500-$5000 voucher they offered.

TIA for any help! And if I should post this somewhere else for advice please let me know.

Question about the Church of Eleven22 (or my relationship to it and its members)

I feel pretty confident that I’m not breaking any mod rules by posting this here, but if I am, I apologize ahead of time.

I’ll start with my question before I explain. I’m wondering how to navigate my relationship to this church and its members in my day to day life? I would generally never ask about another church in this way, but I live and work in Jacksonville, FL (as a police officer) where it all started, and a very large percentage of the people I work with attend here, as well as many of my personal friends outside of work. If it wasn’t so close to home, I really wouldn’t even care all that much. But because I run into it regularly (weekly at least) and see its affects all around me, it’s just different if that makes sense.

Halfway through typing this I realized it would also probably be helpful to emphasize that I am FAR from being a cage stage Calvinist lol. I’ve been in the reformed tradition for a little over 10 years now within the ACNA (we almost went PCA). I get that we aren’t aren’t Presby’s lol, but even we love the 3 Forms of Unity and the Westminster Standards where I’m at, even though we are under the 39 Articles of Religion.

So without trying to be harsh or uncharitable, Eleven22 is a MASSIVE, multi-site church that started from a smaller Methodist congregation in Jacksonville Beach (same county as Jacksonville). They have satellite campuses all over the city, and even at least one in Orlando and one in Georgia now. While I’m told they do plant independent churches with independent preachers and elders, many of them are pure satellite campuses where people go and watch the Pastor (Joby Martin is the main one) on a video screen kinda like watching church on TV at home, except they do at least have live music at each campus with their own band from what I’m told. I realize this isn’t a new or unique model nowadays. Through some research, it seems they don’t actually directly plant any churches, but do so indirectly through partnerships in the Acts29 Network. When asked why they do satellite campuses, I was told “to protect the consistency of the message”. When asked what would happen to the church if Joby “fell”, the idea of any possibility that he could “fall” into sin never crossed this guys mind. Instead. He thought I meant “fell ill” and proceeded to tell me about all the mandatory doctor visits and checkups Joby is required by the church to undergo to preserve him as the leader… Not really sure what to make of that, but do with that information what you will.

I’m told the pastor is a Calvinist though I’m not sure that’s entirely accurate. From all I’ve watched of his and listened to, I would say that he is “Calvinistic” only in regards to predestination/election but even that seems a little loose since I haven’t seen him take a hard, distinct stance on anything in particularly reformed. He certainly isn’t reformed when it comes to the sacraments by a long shot, or when it comes to their emphasis on God’s word with public scripture reading, which is totally fine if that’s how they prefer to do things. I only mention those things because people keep saying “we’re more reformed” from there and it just isn’t even close to true.

They baptize several thousands of people every year at the actual beach. It’s a whole big publicized event every time they do it. Some of them even describe what they are doing as an organic “revival” of sorts. I genuinely want to be absolutely THRILLED about it, but as a police officer, I’m not sure how much of it is real considering our city’s crime is as high as ever, and I would think that an impact of this size would be felt, but that could be completely subjective. If I’m wrong to think that, I’m completely open to and welcome correction!! Not only is it not felt in the city as a whole, but I don’t feel it amongst all the suddenly new Christians at work either. Many of them exercise more, talk about leadership more, are more ambitious sometimes, and almost all of them talk a LOT about Eleven22 and how great Joby is as a preacher. But there seems to be so little fruit among them within the department. Many of them are some of the worst people I know. And I’m not even saying that strictly from a Biblical standpoint. Many are awful by the world’s standards. Obviously it’s true of all churches that we have Christ visible church and His Invisible church within each Church body. But most of the churches I’ve attended or have friends at, at least seem to have more fruit bearing believers within them than not. Ultimately on your Triune God knows who they are, but there seems to be a disparity at this place. And even amongst those that appear to be genuine believers, I have yet to meet ONE (and I run into them constantly) that has even a basic level understanding of what the gospel is, or Jesus even really is! What they do know is, is how awesome the pastor is, how great the kids program is, how politically conservative the church is, how the pastor helped their marriage, how awesome the rock concert environment is, how many short term mission trips they do and support, and on and on it goes. Very few of them ever wanna talk about Jesus!! And if they do, it’s usually from a moralistic standpoint only.

No I’m not saying the church isn’t bringing in new and true converts to Christianity. But the vast majority of the people I meet all seem to be people that tell me a similar story of “I/we used to go to such and such smaller church and now we go to Eleven22”. I’ve yet to hear one single person give me a biblical reason as to why they left their smaller church for Eleven22… I’m sure those people exist, I just personally haven’t met them yet. So it may seem as if I’m being subjective, but with the sheer volume of them that I run into and interact with regularly, it doesn’t really seem to be all that subjective from where I’m sitting (which is realize is a subjective viewpoint 😅). It appears more so that they are just taking over other churches left and right and taking from other smaller community churches primarily. I’m sure that is not their intent! But it seems to be the reality.

I have visited there a couple of times with friends(though never again), and listened to several of the sermons from there, and continue to do so purely to keep up with how things are going so I can engage with believers from there as informed and as wholesomely as I can be. They all talk about how Joby preaches everything straight from the Bible, which most of us know doesn’t mean much all on its own as most false teachers do that as well. Absolutely not meaning to call Joby a false teacher by any means. I don’t think he is that at all. Just making a point. However, his Bible preaching generally consist of talking for the first 25-30 mins with some different anecdotal stories and manly self-help type stuff or general moralism. They often remind me of guys like Cam Hanes (who I love btw) or christianized David Goggins (if that were a thing). And then eventually he will open the Bible, read a couple verses or a short passage, then walk around for most of the sermon without ever quoting scripture again. Also read a good chunk of his book Stand Firm and Act Like Men before having to put it down. He very much is the rough and tough outdoorsy type. (which I actually like). I feel like I’m a pretty tough, outdoorsy type myself. But while reading that book, I continually felt like I was something less than… And I don’t so much care about how it made me feel, as much as how much it could harm men in my city and workplace that I live with daily. I am constantly working to remind Christian men (especially from Eleven22) of their adoption in Christ and how IT IS FINISHED.

In addition to this stuff… In reference to men such as Mark Driscoll and Steven Furtick he praises them with statements like “find me a better Bible preacher” (Driscoll) and something along the lines of Furtick being “one of the greatest Bible teachers he knows”. That’s deeply concerning in my opinion but some of you here may feel differently about it. I think most of us would agree on Furtick… not sure where some stand on Driscoll as he was once beloved in some reformed/reformed-ish circles.

I want to rejoice at what I keep being told is a “great move of God” but the more I learn and live within it, the more concerned I become. I know there are truly wonderful Christian men and women within the church. I know a decent handful of them. But they seem rare.

So I have been praying hard for the church, for the pastor and the elders, for the people, and for my city and department as it is affected directly by the church. Not only the employees that work here, but the church has a chaplaincy program tied to the department now and it is heavily involved. Ordinarily I would see that as a great thing! And I’ve tried hard to keep that viewpoint, but it seems to be getting worse, not better.

Please pray for me! And if you have any advice, no matter how great or small about what I should/can do, please share. And if you think I’m doing WAY too much and am just being anxious for no good reason, please share that as well. I really am open to it if I’m wrong for being concerned. I know some here well mention bringing this before my Pastor/elders which I’ve already done and they share the same concerns. As well as other churches in the city. Due to the rules, I most definitely cannot post what they have said in here. Not because it is hateful, but because it probably sounds closer to how Martin Luther spoke about the Roman Church than it does how R.C. Sproul and Johnny Mac would talk about each other.

Thanks for any help/guidance yall can offer.
