2020 Sierra Denali
I am in the process of finally upgrading from my 2012 Sierra and I am looking at a 2020 Denali with 72k miles on it. Curious if anyone has any experience and could provide any feedback. Thank you.

Thinking about purchasing this model…
How do people like the vertical screen for radio, etc?
Do you like the forest green seats?
6.2 or 5.3 engine?
Has anyone had any problems with their 2026 5.3 sierra 1500. Was looking at getting a 6.2 at4 but after too much reading leaning towards a 5.3 sierra Denali. I can’t find anything about any issues with their 2026 5.3 which I think is a good sign
I have an 06 GMC Yukon XL with 192k miles, bought lil over a year ago for $5k. I recently had it looked over and they said it’s leaking all fluids, air box won’t seal completely, transfer case leaking, I need both new serpentine belts, both upper ball joints are bad, and both cv boots are torn, not to mention the ac isn’t cold and occasionally the traction control will activate when accelerating after being at a stop light. I was quoted almost 2k just for the ball joints and boots but I do not have that and I’m unsure of how much time I have to save money before they completely go out. Should I sell it? If so for how much? Or should I trade it? Or should I save money and drive it until the wheels literally fall off and hope I have money to buy something else? I don’t have good credit and can’t afford much of a monthly car payment.
We're looking to purchase a new vehicle and the GMC Yukon is on top of the list.
The main discussion we have been contemplating so far is if the Denali is worth the extra money over the Elevation. The options that we are considering are the Elevation with the Elevation Premium Package and the Denali with the Advanced Tech Package (very difficult to get) or the Denali Reserve Package.
Main differences between the two we see in Denali is the 6.2L V8, Magnetic Ride Control, 22" wheels and the Denali badge that command the ~$14k cost difference between the two variants.
We test drove the Elevation w/ Elevation Premium Package and really liked it. The engine felt a tad bit underpowered but not a deal breaker for the short drive. The interior space was great, the features like large HUD were useful as well. We are buying this vehicle for our growing family and will not be towing. The Super Cruise addition is a need for us, hence the package additions.
Looking for some feedback from folks who have driven either/both - would the larger engine and the magnetic ride be a substantial miss? I prefer to go with the 20" wheels as we live in MI and generally prefer the ride quality of a 20" wheel. Haven't driven the magnetic ride control variant yet.
The $3k incentive makes a big difference, along w/ the GM friends and family discount. Is the Denali just the better variant overall or is the Elevation a better bang for the buck vehicle.
I bought my First BRAND NEW Truck! Elevation 5.3L
I've always bought older vehicles to save money with 6 kids. Finally got something nice for myself.
Happiness started to wear off Quickly
First Week an issue with the Radio lost one day to diagnose. Lost another day for them to replace the display.
6th Weeks started running rough for a couple blocks then DEAD needing a tow to nearest Dealership. It has been at the Dealer for over 2 WEEKS NOW!!! They tell me Cam Sensor / Cam Gear / Cam Chain etc ...
GM Canada Customer Service - TERRIBLE at returning calls or Emails !!! I've left emails and phone calls. NO return calls in a WEEK !!! When I called a week later after I left several messages I go the same person on the phone.... Oh well someone else is now looking after it. - Still no Phone Calls or Email not sure I call that Taking care of it. - We can't do anything until the Dealer fixes the truck and let's us know what the full repair is.
Purchased at 69KM(42Miles) - Died at 3,974KM (2,469) !!!!
Any Advice from People who Love their trucks?
I'm looking at getting a new Yukon and have some questions I'm hoping someone can answer here. Specifically, I'm eyeing the 2026 Yukon AT4 4WD with the AT4 Premium Plus package. That also includes the Air Ride Adaptive Suspension and the Active Response 4WD system. I want to get all this with 20" tires. I have no intent for offroading - I'm shopping features and comfort and this package covers all the features, with comfort being the big question. Can anyone give me an idea what the ride would be like on one of these? And possibly how it might compare to a 2026 Tahoe Premier?
What are y’all’s thought on this? Looking between the 2 and found solid used ones for the wife.
Found a Xl with the white interior and a max with the salt crystal.
My wife doesn’t drive a lot to work as it is only 10 miles there (20 there and back) will be the daily driver and family vehicle as well.
I test drove a 3.0 2024 xl and thought that was nice and test drove the max, also thought that was nice.
I see vibrating issues and possible brake issues with the max and the new 3.0 seems pretty legit but heard of transmission issues and the rear locking up on the gmc.
Can I please hears y’all’s experience or feedback, though?
Looking at buying this 2004 GMC Sierra 2500HD LB7 Duramax/Allison
2004 GMC Sierra 2500HD
Crew cab long bed
LB7 Duramax
Allison 5-speed automatic
~185k miles
Bone stock/unmodified
4x4
Oregon truck most of its life
No blow-by (seller sent oil cap test video)
Very clean body/interior for a GMT800
Asking $13.5k
Seller says his brother-in-law owned it since around 2016. Daily drove it on/off Air Force base and drove from Oregon to Texas multiple times a year. Says it’s completely stock and never tuned/deleted
Major recent work with receipts:
Injectors replaced
Fuel pump replaced
Fuel lines replaced
Cooling system checked
Ball joints replaced
Upper ball joints replaced
Tie rods/stabilizer links/sway bushings
Rear wheel bearing/hub seals
Pinion seals
Parking brake hardware
Alignment
Transmission service
Fuel filters/oil changes consistently done
No accidents on CARFAX, Frequent oil changes/service history
Anything specific I should inspect on LB7s besides balance rates/blow-by/front end play?
Would you trust this as a long-term ownership truck?
How concerning is 185k on an LB7 if maintenance has been solid?
Any red flags you see from this history?
I need some honest advice from the GMT400 crowd because I’m at a crossroads with my truck.
I’ve got a 1996 GMC Sierra C1500, RWD, 5.0 V8, 5-speed manual, sitting at about 200k miles. The truck itself is honestly in great shape for the Midwest. Body is clean, interior is surprisingly nice, frame is solid enough, and it’s been an awesome work truck for my pressure washing business. It carries all my equipment well and I genuinely enjoy driving it.
Here’s the problem:
Rear differential is grinding badly and leaking gear oil everywhere
Engine recently jumped timing for some reason
I already tried the obvious stuff (cap, rotor, plugs) and it didn’t fix the issue
The thing is… I paid $5500 for this truck back in 2023 and it’s fully paid off now. I also have a plow setup for it that I paid another $600 for, which is part of why I really don’t want to switch platforms entirely.
I know these trucks aren’t exactly rare, but finding:
a clean GMT400
with a manual transmission
that I already know the history/problems of
AND that’s already set up for my business
…makes me hesitate to dump it.
What makes this harder is seeing decent running and driving K2500s and even K3500s pop up locally for reasonable money. Honestly, the heavier chassis and 4x4 would probably suit my business even better, especially in the winter with the plow. But every single one I find is an automatic, and part of why I love this truck is the 5-speed.
At the same time, I’m trying to be realistic. I use this truck to make money, so downtime matters. Part of me says repair it because it’s still cheaper than taking on a truck payment in today’s market. Another part of me says I could throw thousands at this thing and still end up chasing problems.
So I’m asking the people who know these trucks best: Would you repair it, swap another engine/rear end into it, or cut your losses and move on?
Looking for realistic opinions, not “LS swap it bro” unless you’ve actually done it and can speak on costs/reliability.
Anyone know what this black circle with a small green button is on my 2025 Yukon XL? I bought it brand new from a dealership. It seems aftermarket cause it’s on the outside of a removable panel
My only thinking is like maybe the dealership offers their own low jack kind of thing that you can sign up for? Thanks!
With order taking place likely in a month or so, I’m surprised there hasn’t been any information leaked. Anyone hear anything about Yukon XL engine or slight updates? I realize that it won’t be a total refresh year. We were just about to buy a 26 3.0 but figured we might as well wait a month to see what improvements might be made. Curious as I do hear about a hybrid version..
2026 Duramax planning on getting paint matched fender flares. Interior is killer!
Hey everyone. My fiance and I got this 2007 GMC new sierra 1500 as a gift, Unfortunately it has some rust in spots that don’t really make it that presentable. I noticed underneath it has some surface rust . Someone told me it’s not fixable, which i understand but I would like it to be more presentable if that’s possible.
Yesterday when I parked a lot of water started dipping from under the car near passenger side(not in cabin) (not condensation) and I now hear a sound from the fan almost likes it’s hitting something…no ever heating/no engine light…I did temporarily put water in the coolant reservoir yesterday but not this problem is happened later on the day..also car now seems like it doesn’t have a lot of power when driving and RPMs are low…any thoughts?
The California Attorney General announced this week that GM agreed to a $12.75 million settlement over a four-year practice (2020 to 2024) of selling names, contact information, precise geolocation, and driving behavior of hundreds of thousands of California drivers to two data brokers: Verisk Analytics and LexisNexis Risk Solutions. The brokers built a driver-rating product out of the data and sold it to auto insurers, who then used it to raise premiums for drivers in states where that's legal. Nationwide, GM made roughly $20 billion off this category of data sharing.
A few details worth knowing:
The brokers themselves haven't been named in any enforcement action, only the source of the data. Should the brokers be on the hook too, or is GM the right pressure point when the data originated with them?
