SF w/ some fog: Sedum as lawn replacement. Thoughts on suitability and esthetics?

Technically, I'm in Pacifica, the foggier north end.

We are looking to rehab our front lawn with something native and low-water/low-maintenance. We have a complicated slope — two fall lines running on a corner lot, fwiw.

Landscaper/gardener recommends sedum. AI (ugh) is suitable to my climate. Curious if a knowledgeable local human would agree.

Even if sedum is a great fit, I can't quite picture an entire front lawn entirely of sedum.

And — Scattered colors? Or all green?

Thanks for any input/inspiration!

Culture question! If Norwegians have a reputation of being people of few words. Does that come from a particular cultural value?

EDIT: Woah, that hit a nerve! I'm just trying to understand my mom, who is 83 years old.

(ugh, sorry about the typo in the title ⬆️ EDIT: to clarify, that "IF" was to indicate a hypothesis, not a declaration, but that was not enough for some of you.)

I'm a half-Norwegian writing about my mother (native born in the 40s) and her family, whose living members all still live in Norway.

I'm a big talker who has been grappling with my mother's reticence. In my writing, I'd like to present her reticence fairly, ie, with accurate cultural context.

For instance, as I understand it, Norwegians' dislike of boasting is tied to Janteloven.

Question:

I'm wondering if a similar cultural value disinclines Norwegians from engaging in lively chatter, from telling yarns....

To clarify: I'm not talking about "small talk." I'm talking about sharing one's life, sharing one's perceptions, personal experiences.

Is it considered egotistical to talk about oneself (even with family members)? Is it considered selfish to drive the conversation?

Tusen takk!
