What JRPGs have fun combat systems

I’m looking for something with a lot of depth. The combat systems I’ve loved the most so far are the ones in the Final Fantasy VII Remake and the Xenoblade series. I really enjoy making builds and seeing how much damage I can output depending on the gear, equipment, and setup I’m using.

Right now, the main games I’m considering are Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Xenoblade Chronicles 2. That said, I’d also like to try something new, so I’d love to hear any recommendations you guys have.

I play on Switch 2 and PS5, if that matters. At the moment though, FF7 Rebirth and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 are the games I’m leaning toward the most. However I would love to hear some more recommendations:)

I’ve been enjoying this game a lot, the combat is really fun. I’m still a bit confused about the gem crafting part, maybe I’ll watch a video or two to understand it better. I’m already on Chapter 6, and I’m not sure if I’m rushing or not I saw people had almost 50+ hours and were barely on chapter 4 or 5. I’m level 27 and have been using a mix of Dunban and Shulk because they are cool. I usually accept every possible side quest, then explore, and then do the main mission—and I’ve been absolutely having a blast. If you guys have any tips I for combat, equipment I should use, and anything else.
