Sleep???

If I don't sleep soon I'm going to end up in hospital (again).

I haven't slept more than 2-3 hours since late June.

I've tried everything I've seen recommended anywhere at all.

Magnesium glycinate

L-Theanine

THC

Melatonin

Prescription meds like still nox

Xanax

Anti histamines

Sometimes a combination of all of these.

Nothing works and I'm losing my mind.

If anyone can suggest anything I haven't thought of, please please please please do.

Mounjaro? (EU members?)

Anyone here from EU or Ireland?

I'm in the latter where you will only get a GLP1 if you have a BMI of 30+ or diabetes. I have neither.

What I DO have is 12% body weight increase in 3 months despite calorie counting and 3-4 x strength training a week. Plus all the usual peri nonsense of course - constant migraine, suddenly have acne, mood swings and crying randomly, sore hips and knee joints, swollen face, ankles, abdomen, etc etc etc. terrible terrible insomnia that landed me in ER in March (I didn't sleep at all for 8 days in March and my body tried to do a hard reboot to fix itself by trying to purge all my fluids 😭)

I am on low dose estrogen and progesterone since April. Has it made some symptoms maybe 15% better ? Sure. Is it worth it for the ongoing symptoms and especially weight gain? No I really really don't think so.

The weight is RUINING my mental health and body image. I have been a US size 6 my entire life and have a history of ED and have worked so so so hard via therapy etc to get to a good place and I really just can't handle the fact that I don't know who that is in the mirror now. And NONE of my clothes fit - socks, bras, underwear, rings, nothing.

It's getting worse and worse and it's the first thing I think about in the morning and the last thing at night. My gyno is supportive but I have to say she's a little bit like... It's a bit of weight I'm sure you can deal. That's easy for her to say.

All the older women in my family are the same svelte size they've always been so why am I the only one with this side effect?!

Gyno's solution is a chemical ovarian shut down injection.

I'm thinking of saying to her I don't want that, or HRT and / but, if she really wants me to do one or the other I will accept it ONLY IF she will also give me a GLP1.

I am hoping that despite strict EU restrictions there is some leeway for doctor discretion if you give the right reason - I know there are other restricted drugs that work this way.

Does anyone have any experience of this??

Gastrointestinal issues?

I have been on My current hrt regime for two months now. Which means I've had a period etc during that time. I have found the regime hard, and I'm not totally sure it's for me (ongoing insomnia, severe boating, significant and profound breast size growth, and migraines despite daily estrogen spray and progesterone every day 12-26) . But just this last week or ten days, I have severe gastrointestinal issues. Constipation, diarrhea and incredible nausea. Worse every time I eat anything, especially dairy or wheat. I went to the GP because my gynecologist is on leave, and she said that's just a side effect of HRT generally. Whereas I think / assume I have some kind of stomach bug. Because why would I have been fine since start of June and only develop this side effect now?

Life falling apart

I'm actually falling apart. It's a combination of pmdd, peri and ADHD so I'm just going to post this several places because I just can't cope and I don't know what to do.

Symptoms, since March ---

8+ days complete insomnia a month.

Every joint is aching.

My sternum is completely inflamed and feels like I'm having a heart attack

I'm so blue I cry every day.

My stomach is inflated like a beach ball and none of my clothes fit. None. The wedding dress I bought only in April , which needed taking in at the time, won't even now close. I won't be able to wear it at my wedding this November.

Bowels shot to hell.

Everything I eat = nausea and pain.

Constant migraine that makes me want to put my face through a wall .

Sweat through all clothes constantly.

My breasts have gone up 3 cup and back sizes and ache constantly and keep me awake.

I don't think I can do this ?!?!?

I've had progesterone both daily and then cyclically. I've had estrogen both via patch and pills, then via spray on arm. Neither has worked.

Now my gynaecologist wants to do a full chemical menopause via gnrh, plus some hrt add back.

I am scared. I don't know what to do.
