Should I wait for round 3 and reject iiith?
Before anyone asks:
Gate score : 767 (DA)
AIR: 168
2 Rounds, no offers, feeling a bit pessimistic atm.
I have a seat in iiith cse, but reserving it any further will be costing 1.3L. IIITH is a great college, but I'm hoping to get into an old IIT, but I don't know if I'll get offers from round 3.
I'm conflicted if I should just withdraw from IIITH to save money in hopes of getting an old IIT or should I just not wait anymore?
I am willing to wait while reserving the seat but I can see that my parents are also conflicted, it's their money afterall and it's not cheap.
Need genuine advice on how to move forward or cope.
If commenting to ask how I prepared and not helping at all, please refrain, I won't respond to that, would happy to talk about it in a post dedicated to it, not here.
Any advice on what to expect and/or prepare for.
Would it be different for someone like me with work experience than a fresh graduate/final year student?
What kind of questions can be asked, both test and interview.
And what should I wear.
As a girl - would a kurti be okay? It feels too hot for blazer. Are smart casuals fine or should I wear something more formal like job interviews?
Basically, literally any advice would be appreciated.
Context:
Gate score : 767 in DA paper
I applied to IIT Bombay MS by research (DS) in cminds as well as Mtech in CSE.
I also applied for MTech in AI and Mtech in Data and Computational Science in IIT Jodhpur.
My MS by Research test of Bombay went really really bad, I attempted only 6 out of 12 questions and I think 2 of them are wrong.
So now I have two tests colliding on May 12 - DCS in Jodhpur and CSE in Bombay, both in-person
My confusion:
I know bombay >>>>> Jodhpur when talking about brand value
But my confidence is way too low after the ms by research test, and my core field of interest is data science and not CS, so I'm conflicted as to which test to drop. Also travel is wayyyyy to hectic, because IIT Delhi written test is on May 10.
Edit: one more thing is that DSA is the bane of my existence and Bombay's programming test is going to be full of it
As I mentioned I forgot to print/download my application form and the portal is closed now. I did sent them email tagging different departments. Is there any way to retrieve it asap?
