If I disappear this moment, would anybody care to notice?
reddit.comIIT Bombay eco or IIT Kanpur eco?
Hello!
I'm fairly confident that I've gotten marks good enough to get into both of these.
I've heard that bombay is better placement and crowd wise, but kanpur is an older program. Can anybody guide me about these 2 please? Thanks :)

Lets help IIT aspirants 🛑🛑
I’m making this post so that current and former M.Tech students can share their honest placement experiences from their colleges. I think this would really help future aspirants make better decisions and get a realistic idea about the current situation in placements, internships, and research opportunities.
From what I’ve personally observed, M.Tech placements in many IITs are not as great as people outside assume. For example, in my college (IIT BHU), the highest package for an M.Tech student in the EE department was around 15 LPA, and Mechanical was also around the same range.
It would be really helpful if people could comment with:
• College name ,Department ,Placement scenario,do they allow Internship.
This thread could genuinely help a lot of students who are confused during counseling season.
Aspirants you can ask anything related to gate in this thread,i will try to answer
Is it true - Desire to make authentic social connections ?
As today is international tea day, give out craziest tea of your college life
Just want to hear out something crazyyyy
What is the difference in PhD category TA vs TAP (TA through Project)
From the admission brochure it appears that the only difference is the source of stipend funding. And in TAP the topic of research is already fixed whereas in TA we have the flexibility to choose research topic and guide.
Is phd TAP inferior to phd TA ?
Requesting guidance from existing phd students.

IITB MSR CSE (IS) vs IITHYD MTECH CS SS
I got call for IITB MSR CS in Intelligent Systems stream and also currently have M.Tech CS in Self Sponsored category. While I am not hard focused on placements but I do want good placements as well. IITB MS is facing problems related to placements as I have heard but not sure which stream. Of course, MSR students cant focus on placements as much as the mtech students but msr students land in some research roles as I have seen. I cant seem to choose between them. Please help me out how to make a wise decision and which points to keep in mind.
I scraped 1,412 Reddit posts looking for a Bangalore flat and put it on map for everyone to use for free
Spent the weekend on a thing because the Bangalore rental experience is genuinely broken. NoBroker quietly shows brokered listings even when you toggle "no broker." MagicBricks is mostly a call-center funnel. The only place I kept finding honest direct-owner listings was r/bangalorerentals and a couple of related subs. Problem is, those posts get buried fast and you basically have to scroll daily to catch them.
So I scraped every "flat for rent in Bangalore" post I could find, ran them through an extractor, and built a small chat agent on top that lets you search them. You can say "2BHK in Koramangala under 30k, no broker" or "I work at Manyata, anything nearby under 25k" and it works. Each result links back to the OP's Reddit post so you just DM them directly, no broker in the loop.
Numbers were rough though. Out of 1,412 posts I pulled, only 131 turned out to be actual rental offers. The rest were complaints, scam stories, "wanted" posts, random market talk. So about 2.8% of what looks like a rental post on this sub actually is one.
Putting the demo link in a comment so this doesn't read as drive-by promo.
Genuine question though, most of those 39 are older archived posts so the flats are probably already gone. If I set up a daily scrape of new posts on here, would something like this be useful to you, or does the gap between "post appears" and "flat already taken" make it pointless?
Ignore if you are busy!!
I recently had a breakup (my second gf) she cheated on me, I am feeling so lonely.. I have no one to talk abt this, not able to eat properly..I know it's not good, but I am feeling helpless , sometimes getting suicidal thoughts 😭 (I survived my first breakup, but this time I am unable) it's been a year I am suffering..
(I have many frds, but I can't talk all this to them)
It's so difficult to move on and trust anyone now.
this world is so cruel .. may god never make me human again..🙏🏻
Squash at IITB
Hi, I have joined Trust Lab, IITB as summer intern and I'll be staying here for next 2 months (till July end).
Could you all help me out if I can use insti Squash court and what are timings and all details. And, I haven't brought racket or non-marking shoes. So, would it be a problem? Or is there any way to borrow and use insti ones.
Thank You!
What do you think tha acads at Insti lack?
Like where can things improve. What problems have you faced. What causes mental stress? What do you expect to be better?
Is the IIT Bombay placement slowdown just because of the global economy, or is something bigger changing?
For years, IIT placements were treated like guaranteed success stories, but the latest IIT Bombay placement data shows a very different reality. Hiring rates have dropped compared to last year even though some salary packages have increased sharply.
A few students are still landing crore-level offers, but overall opportunities seem far more limited because of the global slowdown, AI-driven restructuring, and reduced tech hiring. What’s interesting is that the “top package” headlines still dominate social media while the actual placement percentages quietly fall in the background.
It almost feels like engineering placements in India are becoming less about mass hiring and more about finding a very small group of elite candidates.
Do you think this is just a temporary slowdown, or is the traditional IIT placement model fundamentally changing now?
