Random 3 a.m. theory that popped into my mind after reading today's chapter. I think that the actors behind the current sabotaging of the Royal Selection could somehow also be the ones behind the mysterious illness that killed off the Royal Family.

Perhaps their motive is to exploit the power vacuum and subtly seize power in Lugnica to get access to the Dragon's Blood in order to reach their bigger goal, maybe something that has to do with unsealing Satella or whatever.
