Of Blood and Fire - Early Copies Have Arrived - email

Just got the email.

We are thrilled to announce we have now received early copies at our warehouse!

Firstly, we want to sincerely apologise for the delay to this title. This is primarily due to ongoing issues with the printers and the time spent testing the ghost edge. We have been chasing for regular updates, but unfortunately it has been difficult to get a satisfactory response. The lack of firm dates has left us both frustrated and unable to pass on any information to our customers. We understand that not every project goes smoothly, but we feel we have been severely let down on a number of titles recently, and as a result we will reassess our suppliers. That said, there is good news! We are pleased to say that the first early review copies have now arrived, and the rest are due very soon. Ryan will sign the books at the end of May following MCM Comic Con, and dispatch will then be prioritised for late May/early June.

Ghost Edge Removal

Due to quality issues, and ever stretching timelines, we have decided to remove the ghost edge. Whilst the initial tests on the ghost edge worked brilliantly, we learnt that these were done on a book with a glued binding. Sadly, the printers could not replicate this on a book with the upgraded sewn binding to a level that met our standards. Therefore, we chose to drop this spec and prioritise the overall quality of the book. Please know we did our best to make this work, but the image came out blurry and we were not satisfied sending this to customers.  We know other printers can achieve this, but due to contracts and timeline considerations we have decided to move forward without the ghost edge. We are very sorry for any disappointment caused, and our Customer Service team can arrange a refund for anyone who wishes to cancel their order.  In an effort to make up for this, we will be including the ghost edge artwork on a bookmark with all orders, as well as an A5 foiled print of the map.

New Folio book Question.

I just received this beautiful edition of Perdido Street Station from the Folio Society.

There are some dark marks on the bottom of the book from what I assume to be the printing press.

Is there any way I can safely remove these marks?

Or should I just leave them. I want to keep the book.
