I CRACKED THE CODE TO MAKE THEM SHINY

The first pic is before and the second on is after. The rest of the photos are of another specimen I did the same process on. I used baby oil on the shell then wiped the excess away before coating the whole thing with glossy mod podge. The baby oil brings out the color and the mod podge makes it not feel greasy. 10/10!!!

Working on a commission for free but I’m not sure if it’s soulless compared to my art from last year?

Sorry for the bad quality, I have no storage space on the tablet I draw on. The last image is the ref that my commissioner gave me. He said to draw it but “better” and weirdly enough I feel a little self conscious about mine compared to the og and to my old style. I feel like his has more personality and whimsy even though this is one of his VERY FIRST DRAWINGS. How do I make mine less hard to look at? The reference for the clothes was me wearing a robe for the shirt-thing, ref for the pants was just google and same with the mantis head. I just drew it on procreate.

Huge female exoskeleton

I have probably twenty of these exoskeletons (I know a place where they wash up on their backs all the time and I collect them to measure the size, display, use as drawing models and soon as models for teaching younger kids about them! don’t mind my crusty drawing iPad in the background

After and before pictures (images of possibly dead millipede)

I was moving my millipedes from a tiny enclosure (less than five gallons) to a ten gal tank since I finally got my hands on one. I knew to not unbury millipedes, but it had been a month and only one of three of my Giant American millipedes was out and about. I assumed she was just less shy than the two males and that they were just getting used to being in a new environment (I got them on June 20th), so I unburied them and found one I’m now pretty sure was molting. At the time, I panicked because I thought he was dead and maybe dried out because of how stiff he was. So like a huge, bumbling idiot, I sprayed water directly onto his body (for some reason?) and moved him gently with my fingers. It’s been half a week and I think I killed him. Is he dead? He was very pale before and is now more dark in color and has gross oozy stuff. I kept him away from the other millipedes by covering him with a plastic cup so they wouldn’t eat him if he was still alive but I’ve given up hope at this point. I have seven species of isopods and I assumed it would be super similar having the two but I was wrong and I honestly regret buying these guys. I love them to death and have cried my eyes out about the death of this millipede but I just feel so guilty if I killed him.
