Gap year -how does it work with uni applications

I’m currently in year 11 and thinking ahead to my future, and I would love to go travelling, and work a bit before I go to uni. I was just wondering if taking a gap year would affect the application process, or make it any harder. I am born in july (during summer holidays), but idk if that would change anything lol. Can anyone explain how it works? sorry this is sort of vague, but any help is appreciated :)

Help choosing artist

I’ve been doing my topic of places and spaces, and my teacher keeps pressuring me to choose a fixed sub theme and artist for my art research. I am really stuck for ideas and it’s already been like 3months into the topic and I’ve done NOTHING. a moodboard and that’s it. basically I wanted to draw my focus on nostalgic scenes that focus heavily on lighting and stillness in between transitions. This is a moodboard/art style attached. I can also change it as I’ve not really done much and it’s very vague. Idk what my focus will even really be on- pathways, windows, stations etc😭 any help would be greatly appreciated, be it an artist recommendation or what you think I should focus on. thank youu

What jobs can I get as a 15 year old

so I’m going into year 11 next year, and a lot of people I know have already got part time jobs, and I think it would be a good time to gain some experience and earn a bit of money. obviously I have big exams coming up and I am quite academic, so I’m worried getting a job might affect my revision, which is one of the reasons I’ve been putting off considering it. However, if I were to look for one, at my age what sort of thing do you recommend as most large retail shops/cafes only hire over 16s. any help is appreciated :)

Is UWC still as academic as most sixth forms?

I had a talk from an alumni at my school today who went to the UWC in wales (I forgot the name now) and it sounded like a really amazing opportunity that I might want to consider instead of a more traditional sixth form. For reference, I’m reslly interested in learning more about the world ( different cultures, nature languages etc) but I am still likely take a very academic career path in science/healthcare, and possibly go on to do a PhD. I know she talked about how many people form UWC get into top universities across the world, including Russell group ivy league, but I was just wondering if anyone had any insight into whether taking IBs instead of A-levels for example is still worth it, and ’respected‘ as much by universities. I was also wondering if the more extracurricular side is valued for developing skills for the future etc. Sorry if this is a vague question but I’d really appreciate any help as I’d love to learn more about UWC!

English 30 markers- what’s a good score

I just got back my English mock and it was a 30mark essay for Jekyll and Hyde. English is probably one of my weaker subjects but I got 26/30 which I’m pretty happy with! Does anyone know what grade that would be, because I‘m aiming for a 7-9 in the real exam. thank you :))

How to deal with nausea and period cramps

I get really severe period cramps, and I often vomit during the first few days of my period. I have been trying to see if there is any medicine/ painkillers for cramps, that also help reduce nausea, as I find things like ibuprofen make my sickness even worse, and don‘t do much for my cramps. I’ve also tried paracetamol and that doesn‘t work either. does anyone have any advice on how to deal with nausea as well as cramps???

Work experience

Im currently 15 and I'm thinking about a career in medicine, but I’ve read online that you need work experience in a clinical environment to apply for med school. I was wondering if anyone has any advice on the type of experience I can do, maybe once I turn 16, and how much I should do. Also, would there be any opportunity for me to volunteer or do work experience abroad after sixth form, as I’m planning on going travelling for probably around 6-9 months before uni
