Paintball is a Special Gamemode in Die of Death. The gamemode features 9 Civilians competing against one another in a large map using paintball weapons and explosives. Unlike standard rounds, there are no Killers, and all players have the same base statistics and abilities.

At the beginning of the round, 9 players are spawned separately at designated spawn points throughout the map. The round has a 3-minute timer.

All players retain the standard Civilian base stats

100 Health

100 Stamina

Every player's deck consists of two abilities: Shoot and Paint Grenade.

Shoot functions similarly to the Revolver ability, although it has significantly less wind-up and endlag. The Paintball projectile travels approximately 2x faster than a Revolver projectile.

The projectile has an AOE hitbox. Upon colliding with a wall or other suitable surface, it explodes, creating an explosion hitbox.

Explosion hit deals 20 damage, applies a temporary -3 WalkSpeed penalty, and covers the player's screen with a paint splatter for 3 seconds. The paint splatter then gradually fades over 2 seconds.

Direct hit deals 30 damage and applies a temporary -6 WalkSpeed penalty. No blindness penalty

After Shoot is used, the ability changes to Reload.

Reload has a 3-second cooldown and plays a 4-second reloading animation. Once the reload animation finishes, the ability changes back to Shoot, which receives another 3-second cooldown. ( 6 seconds cooldown in total or accurately 10 seconds cooldown if animation duration is counted )

Paint Grenade functions similarly to the Pie ability. The player can aim at a location before throwing the grenade.

After landing, the grenade has a 1-second delay before exploding. The explosion deals 40 damage to players caught within its radius and flings and ragdolls them for 2 seconds. With a 35 seconds cooldown

Players who achieve a B Rank or higher during the round receive an additional ability called Paint Sentry.

Paint Sentry has 1 use and requires the player to spend 6 seconds building it.

If the player is hit by a projectile while constructing the Sentry, the construction is immediately cancelled.

Once successfully deployed, the Paint Sentry automatically targets the nearest player within a minimum range of 50 studs. It fires the same type of paintball projectile used by the Shoot ability.

The Paint Sentry has 50 HP.

Direct projectile hit deals 15 damage

Explosion hit deals damage

Overtime Punishment Syste.

When the round timer reaches 0:00, the safe zone begins shrinking.

The safe zone continues shrinking until it completely disappears. Players outside of the safe zone take 5 damage per second.

The safe zone takes approximately 30 seconds to completely disappear.

Players earn points for successfully damaging or eliminating other players.

Score System

Paintball explosion hit| +50

Direct Paintball hit| +150

Paint Grenade — each player hit| +100

Paint Sentry projectile hit| +50

Paint Sentry explosion hit| +25

Kill| +300
