After doing the 400 and 1000 kintif mixed abrasive on my PM2 Maxamet I decided to run it on the 3000 mixed abrasive today and I’m pleased with the results.
Within the past few weeks I’ve been working with the Kintif mixed abrasive diamond/sic stones and they continue to amaze me. I received a PM2 maxamet today with the very tip of the blade chipped so it needed to be reprofiled. I wish I would have taken before pics but I used the 400 and 1000 stones then to 5 micron leather strop down to 1 micron leather strop. I have the 3000 kintif stone but I haven’t decided if I want the edge polished yet or not.

Aside from my electroplated DMT Diasharp and Spyderco 306CBN plates I purchased the cheefarcuut home stone sometime ago. I really like the cheefarcuut but it is very friable and muddies a whole lot and it appears the lifespan will not be that great considering it is only 2mm per side so I kept researching the Kintif 70/30 diamond/sic stones and ended up with the 1000 grit. I am so impressed with it that I ordered the 3000 grit to serve as the go between to my Spyderco 302UF stone. The 1000 builds slurry but doesn’t muddy at all and seems to not show any wear whatsoever. I have sharpened 2 Maxamet, 1 S35VN, and Cruwear blades on it so far and have paper-towel slicing results. I’m sold on Kintif however I’m still very happy with the cheefarcuut as well. I’m tempted to get the Kintif 400 but I already have the DMT diasharp in XC, C, & F as well as the CBN in 400/800 so it’s not necessary (I’ll probably still end up buying it).
Do not sleep on the Kintif stones.
What is the best leather care to use on leather seats in a 2022 Zr2 Chevy Colorado? I read that they are coated so traditional leather care doesn’t work the same and was curious if there is any product that will actually work on these to avoid cracking and splitting over time.
I have the cheefarcuut 400/1000 home stone but noticed the Kintif 70% diamond 30% sic mixed abrasive stone and I am very curious on how it performs on steels like maxamet, 15v, cruwear, etc.
I got the native 5 in spy 27 and son had to have another knife in it so I got the manix 2. Hopefully I’ll get a pm2 and para 3 in it as well. I really like how well rounded and easy to sharpen it has been.
