Would you join the military if you had nothing at 21?

I have no car, no savings and other then being pretty smart and in shape I've got nothing at all going for me, I work in a factory it sucks. I make around 2k a month it sucks. I'm the dead ass Jack of all trades master of none, I've never been bad at a job but never found anything I love to do. What's your advice?

15x questions about MOS

Quick about me :

I'm an athlete and a tech nerd I'm great with computers 21 6,1 180

Composite & Line Scores

AFQT: 78

GT (General Technical): 119

ST (Skilled Technical): 117

GM (General Maintenance): 115

EL (Electronics): 116

CL (Clerical): 116

MM (Mechanical Maintenance): 116

SC (Surveillance and Communications): 116

CO (Combat): 115

FA (Field Artillery): 116

Honestly no clue what I want to do but this job has drawn my interest 15x I just don't want to waste my potential working in factories anymore.

I haven't went to meps for medical yet, just ASVAB

Questions :

1 : Is this job on the ground with the infantry and training with them?

2 : will I really learn to fabricate drones? Ive read a lot about 15Xs building the drones basically from scratch

3 : can 15Xs be Airborne?

4 : can 15Xs be Rangers?

TIA!

Do Army Depression Waivers happen a lot?

TLDR : depression waiver, non medicated isolated incident 2 years old diagnosis, will my army recruiter stop working with me I scored a 78 on the asvab and we haven't sent my medical packet since Im still peeing hot for MJ what do you think?

I'm 90% through my enlistment process, done with the ASVAB and about to go to meps for physical soon.

I'm going to get DQd i already know, but I see a lot of people who have been denied for their waivers.

My exact case : depression, 1 meeting with a physician and (I think a formal diagnosis but I was only in the hospital for 3 hours so I'm unsure how.) no treatment post that and no meds or other hospital visits. It was caused by a motorcycle wreck, losing my mother the year before and having a brand new child a few days before and issues with my child's mother. Just a compound of feeling like my life was pretty shitty which I'd never felt before and have never felt since.

I pulled my medical records and am going to bring them to my recruiter Monday, I'm just worried he won't want to work with me anymore even though I did well on the asvab.

DD form 372 question (for recruiters)

My Army recruiter is going out of his way to come to pick me up Thursday for our first meeting and to get the process started.

I don't have a birth certificate but have SS card, DL and my diploma

I have read about DD form 372 and am really hoping it would work. I don't want to waste his time or irritate anybody.

Is the DD form 372 common and how exactly does it work?

(I'm going to text him in the morning to find out as well but it's after business hours atm and don't want to bother him. I just am looking for answers because I'm a big worrier lol)

My questions about day to day Army life and Enlisting

I have so many questions! I know this is my path to secure a future for my children. I am 21, 6'1 190 and actively in the gym weightlifting and I added in a lot of running by the corn fields near my house since I live off of a busy road that makes it hard to run on the pavement. I have as well been studying on my weak points for the asvab which is math (any suggestions on what specific to study would be appreciated math wise)

These are the MOS's I have taken the most interest in as of now. I am working on getting in contact with a recruiter but I've been slightly embarrassed to explain my life situation which is definitely childish but I'm working on that part.

18x (with the hopes to go 18b) though I have worries that my eyesite will impair my ability to compete with the other men and women going for the same role so I have decided to be hopeful but not concrete on if It is achievable. Physically I know I have what it takes I just don't know that I have the eyes it would take to be effective in that position.

31b because of my love for the police and the purpose they serve and the hopes that I could make a difference in people's lives

89d because I really like the way it was explained to me and the idea of being able to dismantle bombs and save lives of countless people means a lot to me as well as this would be the most challenging academically I believe

My questions are this

How much "free" time do you get in the military?

I know it may vary from job to job but I'm an avid lover of basketball and am hoping people on military bases play and run games and such, I also really enjoy hitting the weight room everyday that I can and running at least a mile a day. I am a bit of a weird person and only sleep around 4-5 hours a day because I have so much energy that I can't figure out what to do with. I don't use caffeine but am pretty hooked on nicotine though I switched to onis recently to help my lungs stop hating me when I run.

  1. I have very thin hair and my momma always shaved my head and I continued that into my adult hood and I've read a lot about people getting torn apart for already having a shaved head at basic is that something I should worry about? I keep my head shaved with the lowest guard because I don't like how it looks long.

  1. Do military bases have good libraries? I love books, it's my main way of intaking knowledge

  1. How's the food?

  1. Will my teeth disqualify me? I have a bunch of cavities but no pain or issues with my mouth I have taken care to get better with my oral hygiene the last 2 years. I was homeless for after my mom passed and I guess I just let them go.

Thank you guys so much for your help
