Double Conch Orbital

3-day update on my double orbital conch

Thought I’d share a quick healing update.
They’re 3 days old with titanium horseshoes for both orbitals. The swelling has gone down quite a bit compared to the first day, although they’re still pretty tender if I accidentally touch them.

The piercing itself was brutal—I bled quite a lot during the procedure and they were extremely sore afterwards. Thankfully, the pain has improved significantly over the past few days.

For aftercare, I’m doing saline rinses and applying the antiseptic cream my piercer provided. I have a follow-up review scheduled one week after the piercing so they can check the healing and make sure everything is progressing well.

Overall, I’m happy with how they’re looking so far and hoping the healing continues smoothly. Any tips from people who’ve healed orbital piercings are always appreciated!

Vertical industrial conch to conch

Hi everyone,

I know changing a fresh piercing this early generally isn’t recommended, so I’m hoping for advice on the best way to care for it from here.

I had my vertical industrial pierced 2 weeks ago with a PTFE retainer bar because I work in a corporate environment where obvious piercings aren’t really allowed.

After living with it for two weeks, I realised the piercing is actually much less noticeable than I expected, so I decided I’d rather heal with implant-grade titanium instead.
At the same time, unfortunately, the ball on my PTFE jewellery became damaged. While trying to remove it, the PTFE shaft was difficult to get out, so I ended up carefully cutting the centre of the PTFE bar with a pair of sharp scissors to remove it. I then inserted a titanium bar myself. There was a small amount of bleeding during the change, but it stopped fairly quickly.

Afterwards, I rinsed the piercing under warm running water in the shower and then used sterile saline spray. At the moment it’s a little sore and pink, but it doesn’t seem excessively swollen or have any unusual discharge.

My questions are:
- Is there anything extra I should do over the next few days after changing the jewellery this early?
- Should I just continue with normal aftercare (warm shower rinse and sterile saline once or twice a day), or is there anything else that would help minimise irritation?
- Has anyone else had to change jewellery early because of damaged jewellery, and how did your piercing heal afterwards?

I know I probably set the healing back a little, so my plan now is to leave it completely alone and avoid any further jewellery changes.

Thanks in advance!
