Piercing recs!

I’m looking for a new nose piercing, I’ve only ever really had screw in ones. Is there a better option out there? I feel like I’m used to it more than happy with it, mine is constantly falling out.

I also was wondering if anyone knew of any websites with good quality and reasonably priced jewellery online (UK based). I wanted like a trio of gems sort of thing. All of the websites I’ve come across, including like piercing mania, apparently aren’t safe for skin? So idk!! Help please!!

Thank you!!!

Is my septum wonky?

I got my septum pierced a little over a week ago and I'm worried it might have been pierced badly. There is always the chance that I just have a wonky nose but I really wanted to double check. I apologise for the camera quality I don't have a better one. The piercing place I went to did seem a bit dodgy if I'm being honest so that's what got me so paranoid. I feel like more of the ring is always visible on one side than the other, and when I rotate it to fix this it doesn't line up with the centre of my face anymore. Also one side seems just a tiny bit closer to the front of my nose if that makes sense.

Getting paired nose piercings. Any advice?

This week I’m getting two nose piercings (one on each side). I want to eventually (once they heal) connect it with a chain for a more alternative look. Any advice for getting two nose piercings at the same time?

Help! Does this have cheese wire effect?

I got my nose pierced last December. After it healed, I went to another piercing shop (in my college city) and got the piercing changed. The second shop sized up the piercing from 20 to 18 gauge. When I came home for the summer, I recently switched the piercing to a hoop at the original place I got it pierced at. However, they only had 20gauge hoops and assured me it would be fine. I am very scared of the cheese wire effect and I feel like there is a weird indent/scar. what should i do?

is my nostril pierced correctly?

I got my nostril pierced today.
A threadless titanium labret with a 3.5 mm pin was used.
I’m using saline solution for aftercare.
Could you please advise on the angle—was the piercing done correctly?
It looks fine from the outside, but it looks a bit weird from the inside

Am I being too nitpicky about my nostril piercing?

Tl; dr: I had a few problems, one of which was bad advice from the piercer. My main question is: is the angle acceptable?

- - -

I got this pierced four months ago (before knowing about APP) at the best piercer in town according to the reviews, who told me that *if I wanted* I could put in a nose screw after one month, or a ring after two months. It was done with a 16g (1.2mm), 8mm surgical steel flatback labret, externally threaded. Rinse with saline twice a day. She told me to push the labret up to clean the outside and dry with a cotton swab, then the same on the inside. The healing was fine: pain only the first two days, no swelling, no lymph fluid or blood, only got bumped twice by my toddler.

I went back to get a nose screw after six weeks because the post was enormous and kept hitting my septum. The one I chose, no idea about what material it was. It was blackened silver coloured, much thinner than 16g. It was too long still and turned my nose black so about a month passed and I bought a 14k solid gold nostril screw online to replace the unknown material one. It was 20g. This one felt like a perfect fit but it started leaking lymph fluid and getting super irritated after a month of wearing it - I think because I twirled the screw during cleaning. It got an irritation bump and was just getting worse and worse, very itchy too. At the time we were getting ready for a long holiday and although by then I had learned about the APP and found a piercer at 90 minutes traveling away, I couldn't get there before leaving so I put my original starter labret in myself and swelling and weeping went away almost completely in 48 hours, but now I'm worried about the angle, and if the long post may make it more crooked like on all the Instagram reels. Also wanted to get a titanium threadless labret put in.

I found an APP member at my holiday address but they only work by appointment via email and haven't gotten back to me except to say they would get back to me within two days, two weeks ago. They didn't reply to my most recent check in to see what was up, which is why I'm now posting on here to ask your opion on the angle.

I'll probably end up going to a professional back home next month to check in person, but this is on my mind constantly so I'm posting here. What do you think? I want a flat disk put on there, not the giant ball I have now, but I don't think it will be flat...

I drew the (imaginary?) angle problems in the photos, with green being what I think it should be, and red what it actually is. It's too "horizontal", not at 90 degrees.

Also, how would I know what length labret fits well? Due to the angle I'd aim for a 7.1mm, but maybe a 6.4mm would fit as well. There's some swelling right now because I've been touching it, but I'm no longer moving it when applying the saline. I want it to be snug to minimize irritation, but don't want it to be too snug as the angle would cause it to embed.

Any advice at all?

4 month old septum pain

My new septum is completely fine and hasn't head healing symptoms or anything for 2.5 months. Theres no redness, swelling or typical pain EXCEPT when i accidentally turn the ring in my nose while wiping my nose or trying to adjust it. Im assuming i just need piercing lubrication? Its like a firey pain like alcohol on a cut

Lovisa

So it started with me going to a different piercing place to get my nose piercing changed for my MRI, they went to go take my piercing out when they realized and told me that the jewelry I had was unsafe because it had a sharp end with no back and that the place I originally got it done at wasn’t licensed to do nose piercings. I already knew they had pierced me with a gun, I just didn’t know that was wrong. (Then found out it’s illegal in the state of Oregon.) We went back to the original place and the lady admitted that she knew it was wrong and apologized. She then showed us a license, but we found out it was actually for someone completely different and was only for ear piercing. I’m honestly really freaked out because I trusted this place and had no idea there was so much wrong with the piercing until now. Is this an original experience? Could someone tell me if they know anyone that has experienced it? For context this place had actual piercing diagrams with backs all around the store and the license was stuck in the corner of the salon on the side of a table.

*(edit) Im looking for a ring thats not actually a full ring but a flat curved bar? straight bar through my nose then curves, for this im guessing a custom bar is definitely the option but cant find a maker

Nose piercing bump help

Sorry for the super close ups
First pic is a week ago
Second is 6-8 hours ago, third and fourth are right now
The bump is soft and i have no other symptoms to insinuate an infection.
Piercing is 6 weeks old, implant grade titanium, had the piercing bump for 5 weeks, looked like the first pic for most of the time until a few days ago, turned more red and shiny. head piercer at where i got it done says the angle is perfect, so probably rule that out. Also said its probably a cross between irritation and moisture bump, hard to determine. I also still have my longer bar in because of the bump. Theres a small bump on the inside too but this outside one is of bigger concern. I use a saline q tip on the inside one twice a day as well.

Im only using saline spray and q-tip to clean it. Today and yesterday i started warm saline compresses for 5-10 mins each morning following advice from my piercers. I think it may have helped a little, since its gone down very slightly since yesterday, but cant say for sure. I use a hair dryer on cold low setting to dry it after cleaning and showering.

Idk what else to do, everywhere says to avoid harsh chemicals like tea tree oil and home salt remedies since my piercing is only 6 weeks old and not fully healed yet
I’d really appreciate some advice on how to proceed.

Septum problem

Hi everyone, I got my septum pierced two weeks ago. The pain was moderate, but the location was right, and everything was fine. After a couple of days, the pain went away. Initially, I probably used the wrong saline spray, which started drying out my nasal mucosa. It was so dry that the puncture was bleeding. I temporarily replaced the spray with bottled water, and it got better. But after two weeks, the situation is as in the photo. I replaced all the products with saline, and tried treating it with water, but nothing helps. There are no good tips online. There is no pain or throbbing, only itching in the pierced area and severe dryness with discharge. For example, I can't contact a doctor, and Google Chat only returns nonsense. Please tell me what can be done? I'm thinking of trying the LITHA method and leaving it alone for three days, but maybe someone has encountered the same problem.
