Gyrocopter Tutorial (Lazarus boat helipad → Silo internal helipad → Lazarus boat helipad)

Take-off

Press Throttle Up until thrust is at max level to start the engine. Keep Throttle Up pressed to take-off. As the Gyro rises, use the mouse linear turn to turn the Gyro towards your destination. DO NOT use Tilt Left/Right, as that is meant for quick/complex high speed maneuvers, not simple/minor low speed adjustments. Note that I did not use Tilt Left/Right at all in this entire flight.

Tip: When taking off, clear ground obstacles first (boat, building etc.), then turn away from air obstacles. I turned to my left to avoid over-correcting to avoid hitting the tall Lazarus building. The goal is to only use GENTLE adjustments.

Flight

Once you are airborne, and at max thrust, keep Throttle Up pressed, and you will gain altitude, but you will lose speed at higher altitudes. Gain speed by Tilting Forward. Don't hold the button aggressively, just tap it gently. You will gain speed, but lose altitude. Watch your altitude meter closely to avoid hitting the water. The ideal flight altitude is under 50m (will vary with weather conditions and obstacles). You will reach max speeds of 220Km/hr.

Tip: Do not use Tilt Left/Right. You are flying in open skies to destinations far away. You have enough time/space/visibility to gradually make tiny, GENTLE adjustments. Use the linear mouse turn to adjust your heading.

Pre-landing

About 750m away from your landing zone, slightly tap Throttle down twice to slightly reduce your speed. Then, reduce your altitude significantly. Take your time, don't crash. Start earlier if you have to. Then, hold Tilt Backward and aggressively lower your speed to under 50Km/hr. This is THE ONLY aggressive maneuver that you should do when flying. You will gain a lot of altitude very quickly, BUT, don't panic. This altitude will help you land.

Tip: DO NOT use Tilt Left/Right to try and abruptly adjust your heading if you overshoot your landing zone. This can cause a positive feedback loop where you keep making bigger and bigger tilts as you struggle, and then you crash. GO AROUND. Increase thrust, rise, and then use linear mouse turn to turn around and re-align your landing path.

Landing

Once you looking at the landing zone below you, adjust the camera (personal preference) to be above your Gyro so you can see your landing zone, tap your Throttle down once or twice to about 70%. The combination of the lower thrust and lower speed will cause your Gyro to slowly descend diagonally.

You need to manage the descent using Tilt Backward to reduce speed. Ideal landing speed is 10Km/hr and below. Sometimes, the Gyro will lose too much speed and just float or descend straight down. Give your Tilt Forward a GENTLE tap to drop your nose a little and get some forward momentum to return to diagonal descent. Cut the engine once you touch down.

Tip: ABSOLUTELY DO NOT cut your thrust down to zero as a way to slow down. This will stall your engine and cause your Gyro to fall out of the sky. It will accelerate (due to gravity) and you will dive bomb to the ground. You need enough thrust to keep it in the air, in a controlled descent. Your thrust must still be at 70% when you touch down. Watch footage of a real helicopter landing, for reference.

Silo descent and ascent

The same principles apply, but with a few caveats. Firstly, you need to be patient. If you are moving faster than 10km/hr, you will crash. Float over the Silo, Tilt Backward to about 6Km/hr, and then drop your thrust. Remember not to drop your thrust too much, or else gravity takes over and throws you down like a rock.

As you descend, you will naturally drift a little bit towards the wall because you still have thrust. DO NOT PANIC and start Tilting Left/Right, or abruptly adjusting your throttle. There are 2 strategies to use. FIRST: Use Tilt Forward/Backward to move forward and backward to move away from the wall (this also controls your speed, and altitude).

SECOND: Use linear mouse turn to turn away from the wall you are heading towards. If you had forward momentum towards a wall, if you turn around, that momentum is now taking you away from the wall. The act of turning linearly also reduces your speed (air resistance), which gains you stability.

Tip: DO NOT Tilt Left/Right inside the Silo. That, plus too much speed, is the cause of ALL Silo crashes. Speeding and Tilting will result in you making extreme control adjustments, which creates a positive feedback loop that ends in a crash.

Ascending is easier, and can be done faster, but, you need to be careful not to hit the wall behind you. Use linear turns and Tilt Forward/Backward to keep the Gyro away from the walls. Towards the top of the Silo, tap the Throttle Up just a bit to give yourself horizontal speed to land on the helipad or leave the Silo altogether.

New bug when growing a human with a new memory(?)

>!I tried to grow Tier 3 humans with the new Oath Token memory that gives 50 of every memory attribute, but I can't grow the right humans with it. I have grown all these humans using the exact same formula before, but it won't work now.!<

(Update 05 Beta): A simple-looking addition that will drastically change how we play the game. The devs are cooking!

>!You can now add wall sockets for electricity, water, fuel, and gas. The wall sockets don't have to be directly linked (like a hole through a whole), but can be linked from within a range (a couple of meters). So, you can daisy-chain many pairs of wall-sockets through linking and direct attachment.!<

>!This is still a bit buggy in the Beta. Your initial setup will work exactly as you design it, but after saving and reloading, wall sockets may unlink from each other, and link to other wall sockets, breaking your designed networks. I hope this will be fixed by full Update 05 release!!<

Can't roll back One UI 9 Beta with Smart Switch

I tried it out just to see if there are any interesting changes, as I usually do. I've withdrawn from the beta but the option to downgrade doesn't come up on Smart Switch. Anyone else experiencing this?
