15 years into my no immigration run.

15 years into my no immigration run.

I picked up the game the other day and thought right out the gate that slow growing my empire using natural births and no immigration would be the most fun way to play. This is the progress so far at year 15. 31 population (11 are children). The north quarter has my hunters and woodworkers, the east/south quarter is more agricultural (the farms, baker, market), the town center and west quarter is more lifestyle, we have our temple, tailor/fabric, carpenter, janitor, lavatory, etc. It's a nice little operation, as I build further west I will probably make that more of a military wing as its not very fertile land and it eventually hits the water where I can start fishing operations. East will continue to be my agriculture as it is very rich soil. North eventually hits the mountains so I will continue to build industry that way. South I would like to build out my "tourism" and markets as that is the main trade road.

Advanced Heroquest Rat Ogre

Here's a little sneak peek at my Skaven monster profile portion of the Advanced Heroquest paint project. Got a rat ogre, a beastmaster, and some slaves to start. That 2x2 base that the ogre calls for felt a bit empty so I gave him some giant rats (from hq) to decorate the base. I guess the lore would be those are his parents or brothers and he was the one chosen to be mutated. The ooze signifies the poison bite they have.

Sponsored Survival Exfils and the issue of the Rook

So as I understood it, Sponsored Survival was supposed to be a mode where you fill into the lobby as a single team and have the duration of the match to loot what you can and dodge/survive an onslaught of Rook spawns, and only when the final exfil spawns can you escape!

What I have played the last five matches (my first of this mode) is spawning in as a single team, and having the entire Perimeter to ourselves, not a Rook in sight, and exfils constantly spawning as if we are in the standard Perimeter map. Is this a known issue? Is this how Sponsored Survival has been this whole time? Where are all the Rooks? Why are there so many exfils?

A secondary question would be what IS the point of Rook at this point? He seems sort of superfluous with the ability to solo queue into trios as any shell (turn off autofill) and the prevalence and ease of access to free sponsored kits (there was a moment last season where sponsored kits were mistakenly limited and I thought that would be appropriate to boost Rook population, but they reverted it). Rook doesn't make sense in the current state of the game. I feel like at this point he should just be a main shell and the whole Rook subclass idea should be dropped. I don't know. Thoughts?

Chaos Warband for use in Advanced Heroquest/Warhammer Quest

Sorry for the poor picture quality, I really gotta learn how to light minis so they don't look so globby and overlit; in person they look much better.......

This is my progress on my Advanced Heroquest project, I consider the Chaos Matrix finished for now, just missing a Daemonette and some more Chaos Thugs for variety. I'm moving on to Skaven now even though I want to start on my Undead, but the wife and kids vetoed me haha.

I hope you enjoy my high contrast, color vomit style!

Here is everything I was able to get painted during April. Slow and steady. Next up will be a couple more Chaos units before switching over to the undead horde; complete with ghosts, wights, mummies, etc. I look forward to painting all of those up the most, that old Night Horrors set is cool.

Similar to Ironhand in a previous post, here's Azoth from Dungeonquest, painted him up to use along the Chaos Sorcerer profile for use in Advanced Heroquest. I also have the Chaos Sorcerer from Heroquest painted up, but wanted some variety and already had this model on hand; I thought the garish colors from the card art would be too much, but it actually looks pretty flashy once he was all painted up. Including a comparison shot of the Heroquest Chaos Sorcerer too!

Here's Ironhand from Dungeonquest, painted him up to use along the Chaos Thug profile for use in Advanced Heroquest. I wanted to go a little more brown skinned with him since he's so exposed he should be a bit more tan/swarthy. He's a cool little model, I suppose he's meant to be an old school Ogre but he's not too much larger than normal human models, just stockier.

Finished painting up these bad boys to use in Heroquest as Chaos Warriors. I'll be painting up some Chaos Thugs and a Chaos Champion next. I wanted the Warriors to be themed around each Chaos God so from left to right its Khorne, Slaanesh, Nurgle, Tzeentch. The thugs will all be neutral, muted, metallic and I'm thinking the Champion may be a Chaos undivided type deal, or just painted to look really mean, not sure. Tips or recommendations would be appreciated.

This is a part of a larger Advanced Heroquest project where I am looking to have an oldhammer unit for every profile as well as no repeat models within that model group (so all my Skaven slave rats look different for instance).
