Genestealer Hybrids, mostly Space Hulk Expansion, a few metals
I always thought the Space Hulk plastics looked a bit like sharks or at least fishy, is it just me?

"Who said I was short...!"
Chaos Squat in Exo-Armour
Had to scavenge up some high elf feet to replace the missing ones on this, but painted it up last month as part of a tribute to John Blanche contest.
Blink Dogs. A 4 pack from citadel for ad&d. Pack code ADD80. In the lore I think they're a bit softer than I painted them here. They can blink in and out of space like teleporting. But I wanted some rotts to hang with my other miniatures.
I think they look cool with anything on display, fantasy and 40k, particularly hanging around with my genestealer cults. +1 for hex bases.
C11 (G-20) Dird Stammerley I painted and sculpt by Trish Morrison. The Lesser Goblin is from the box set BC2 Monsters
Mix of originals and 3D prints of some Rogue Trader Imperial Army and Space Adventurers sculpts. Painted in the older team colors of the Philadelphia Flyers.
Chaal'Thuon, chaos champion of C'huul (not-Slaanesh LOL)
Sculpted by Tim Prow for the Pantheon of Chaos project, based of Anthony Ackland's iconic illustration of chaos champion Gilberion the Lewd on Realms of Darkness - Slaves to Darkness.
As the illustration in question is perhaps my favourite Ackland piece in Slaves to Darkness, it's perhaps understandable that I kept pushing this model to the end of the queue. Also I wanted to try something different with it.
As the champion wears chaos armour, I took inspiration from coral and oyster shells, avoiding metals and stereotypical pastel hues. In the end, lots of glazing, and highlights with very diluted silver to achieve a sort of nacre effect (not immediately obvious from the photo).
I saved the best piece for last, and I'm finally done with all the champions on foot from the Pantheon of Chaos range! Moving on to the big guys, monsters, and so on...
I got my Dad to take me to Manchester to get this on release day, 1989. Coming from the backwaters of Cumbria that was the closest GW shop and our local game shop thought it would take them 3 or 4 weeks to get stock. Despite Talisman being eye candy with all the miniatures, this is my all time favourite board game. Fun, replayable and simple enough to teach someone in 30 seconds.
I've just finished repainting the Blood Angels squad from my copy of Space Crusade. They can now join my Ultramarines and Imperial Fists squads as being fully painted with my current skills and paint selection, though unlike the other squads back in the day I did fully paint them, just not very well!
Seeing as the Space Crusade box art, and my original paint job both gave the squad commander's armour a custom paintjob I decided to do so again and this time I tested out some new Vallejo metallic red paints on him. It may not be quite as flash as a full suit of white power armour but it was probably far easier to paint!
Now the hero squads are all done I need to work my way through their adversaries! I've already got some of the chaos marines painted so hopefully I'll finish off their full squad painted soon, then I'll need to move on to the aliens and the other chaos creatures.
I have a copy of the awesome new Stuff Of Legends book in my hot, sweaty little hands (I'm wearing gloves...) and here's my thoughts on it!
Parents are downsizing and managed to stumble on my old tackle box turned Warhammer collection.
Might see about trading them at a local hobby shop to add to my current WIP, then again I might keep em, hard to match the same style that hooked me as a kid.
My 1989 Advanced Heroquest Boxset Skaven clanrat. I received the Advanced Heroquest boxed game for Christmas in 1989. Pictured is one of the Skaven Clanrats that came with the game. Painted by me shortly after.
Trying to get inspiration for a rogue trader inspired space marine army!
