NEVER EVER hire Snoopy tours & travels for taxi
This is gonna be my experience so read it if you ever plan to use a taxi in srinagar.
We made the mistake of booking them after looking at their 4.9 star google ratings out of which most of them are fake, which I found out after the trip.
The driver Muneer sent was so bad that he wouldn’t turn on AC even after we paid for it, he would open the windows even while there was so much pollution in srinagar. The name of Taxi Driver Fayaj kaleem Taxi No.JKO4H 8981) dealing is very bad He wouldn't stop at places we asked him. He lies about places and attractions just so he does not have to drive. My son asked him to drive to town so we can have dinner and it was 28 mins walk, he said it is walkable distance". While returning to Srinagar from Gurez Valley, we booked a hotel online near Nishat Garden, but the driver asked us to get off in Srinagar lal chowk.
Then on the last day of our taxi, the driver said “Give me your phone, I’ll put a google review”. Now I can imagine how many of these 5-star reviews are FAKE. The driver they sent - angry, frustrated, didn’t want to drive anywhere, always argued. We tried to get rid of him on our second day but Muneer said he’ll reason with him. He was okay for a few hours but the same thing happened again. He dropped us at the hotel at 1pm and said he has work so he’ll come back tomorrow. He even threatened to leave us on the side of the road and mind you, we are family with 2 small kids. The guy literally had zero ounce of humanity in him. I asked him politely that my kids can get sick from the pollution but still he’d keep his windows open. He kept yapping about how bad the army is, and how they are just to show muscle which I sort of agree with given the Amarnath yatra was starting. Muneer is nice talking guy but I believe he knows these things happen and is ok with it since BUSINESS IS BOOMING. Hate these mfs. Ruined our once in a year trip and so much money.
I wish I lived close to kashmir and I would’ve brought my own car there. I’m not saying all kashmiris or all drivers of snoopy travels are bad but I’ve met three of them ( one who picked us from the airport, one who was for local sightseeing and one, this guy) All these drivers had one thing in common, they believe tourists are idiots and none of us know anything. Atleast thats the vibe I got from them. I told him I want to walk around gurez main town centre and he started laughing and said “yaha dekhne ko kuch nhi hai.” Mf
