Auto insurance need advice

My son (17) has his driver's license and he's under my auto insurance. He's recently been driving his gf's parents car, with their permission. I thought it was like 1 or 2x case but it's daily since he doesn't have his own car yet.

We're in the process of getting him his own car but it'll be another 4 to 5 months of savings. His gf doesn't have a license so her parents were ok with my son driving them around.

I told him not to do this because it's illegal in our state to drive a minor when he's not 18 yet and her parents aren't adding him as a driver. Her parents and us are not close, we met a few times. My wife says it's not a big deal but I believe this is a huge risk that should be avoided. I'm not out of my mind right?

If anything happens they can easily deny they allowed him to drive and I'll be on the hook. How can I get thru to my wife that this is serious risk because just explaining to her the risk of liability doesn't resonant with her.

How long is too long to be away from your kid?

My wife told me she plans to take our 6 year old to asia this summer and each summer for the next 4 to 5 years. She said maybe 2 to 2.5 months each time.

We live in the states and she's from Asia, she's been living here for the last 10 years and she's adjusted well. Selfishly I don't want to be away from my kid that long, I said maybe 1 month and then I can use 1 week of vacation. She said that's not fair and thats considering controlling.

I feel sad knowing I'll be missing out on the summer memories with my kid at this age. She plans to send him to camp but it's more focused on learning, cram school. He's fluent in the language but I feel at this age he should have some fun summer camps. At least in the states I found some nature and science camps he will enjoy, and I don't work Wednesday so I was planning on that being our date .

She and our son goes back to asia twice a year already for about 2 weeks. What other compromise can I suggest? I offered to watch our kid over the summer with a sitter and she can go the whole summer but she said she didn't want to be away from him that long. When I said I feel the same she guilt trips me and says her family is in asia. Mine is too but in another country.

Also, she is very close to her brother and her brother would not go 1 day without seeing his daughter. She is 8. And she expects me to be ok with 2.5 months without seeing my kid. I'm not being too unreasonable when I said no to the whole summer and every summer right? My kid has friends here who he can go to camps with.

▲ 3 r/Camry

I have a '18 camry SE, looks like the previous owner did a transmission drain and fill at 42k. I've had the car for a few years now and it's driving ok. Should I consider doing another drain and fill at 75k miles?

Currently at 72k.
