Gmail, the ultimate spam generator?

Couple months in late May, early June ago I got 2 spam messages.
At most about 5 to 7 a week.

By default they ended already in the spam folder.
I reported them as phishing using the Gmail report feature.

Shortly thereafter I got more.
I reported them using the Gmail phishing report feature.

Shortly thereafter I got more.
Again,  I reported them using the Gmail phishing report feature.

I got even more!

It was 10 a day, then 20 a day, then 30 day many of them in blocks of just a few minutes increments.

Since Monday now I have received  as of writing this posting here 145 scam/spam messages.
It becomes evident to me that the more I report using the Gmail phishing reporting features the more spam I get!
Of course the Gmail (Webmail) reporting feature is so "WDGAF" archaic clunky backwards that even in the 1980s I had a better email program/interface!

So what exactly what ignorami scam is going on here?
Worse yet, with all that AI jazz they can't implement an "ounce" of intelligence and customizable feature that eliminates that automatically?

Their "block" feature is a joke from a 3-year-old. There is no intelligence in "seeing/understanding" the obvious scam sender domains neither is there any intelligence in recognizing the subject title or addressee name. of course there is also absolutely no sensible feature feature implemented.
The whole thing appears to be dumber than dumb.
What's the game behind it?

Why does duckduckgo search sneakily turn on safe search again?

I have safe search off as I am an adult and the only one using my desktop workstation. Why does duckduckgo search sneakily turn on safe search again after a while and without any signaling or announcement?

corporate authoritarianism: MS publisher will be disabled October 2026 and you can no longer use it or your files!

This is a textbook showcase for corporate authoritarianism: MS publisher will be disabled October 2026 and you can no longer use it or your files! Replacement? = go f yourself...

Yes, you read it right and I'm not making this up. This proves once more my opposition to all things cloud and online in matters software. It is and encroaching gradual neo despotic authoritarianism stranglehold of " We tell you are what you can do, when you can do it and how long you can do it... and we will tell you you like it"

The "socialist-communist" dream of the software industry slowly brainwashing us into "the cloud"of total obedience and dependence, sucking our wallets dry like the socialist model were only the ones on the top benefit and the rest are being lied to.

If you'll fell for the Microsoft office 365 or Adobe cloud and all the other volatile gas bag applications you will get the first taste of it if you use MS Publisher as it will be phased out and no longer supported. Subsequently the app will be disabled and you can no longer open the proprietary "PUB" files.

Don't forget, the same will happen with the OS, They're working hard on it to "cloud" it.

if you search the web or "Microsoft learn", their soft brainwashing site, you will get [moderator] whitewash explanations, justifications and absurd suggestions and answers (copy below) likely AI, to all the many complaints, like:

"My husband and I have thousands of Publisher documents and I cannot find an adequate replacement."

"I write a newsletter for a group of seniors. There is no way that I can change all of this over to another format. I feel Microsoft is robbing me."

"t is very frustrating to say the least and "YES" they should and most likely could let those of us that use it constantly, to purchase just the Publisher program. I DO NOT need all their fancy dancy layouts, forms, etc.. I make my own for my purpose and use..."

...and so on and so forth.

just remember one thing, just like in politics, it's the same thing, you voted for it but won't be able to vote it out!

PS Yes, yes, I know there will be some who will explain me how wrong I am and how good this all is just like the Demonicrats run around with the new socialism brain fart and how wonderful it is. Sure, name me one successful well-to-do "socialist" nation that exists....

Kaiser Permanente quackery. Although a long post, a must read!

If you're an MD read this to! if you're middle-aged or older and have persistent hypertension please read this all!

I think I have to change get away from Kaiser. I'm well aware of that Western medicine has a tendency to "treat the symptom" but not look at the underlying causes that create it.

For the last 2 decades I gradually developed hypertension. They did a few textbook checks (adrenal glands) prescribed me all sorts of medications some of them which had side effects so I had to discontinue but my Blood Pressure (BP) remained oscillating around ±170/100 (!!!).

Meditation and relaxation techniques helped a little. Eating a red beet per day to max out nitric oxide levels helped a little but not as much as they like to push it in advertising. Luckily in the evening when I was lying in bed my blood pressure came down to a "pre-hypertension" level. but my blood pressure was running to often near or in the "redline" range.
Then they came up with the idea of subjecting me to a clinical trial for a new type –for people with persistent hypertension– and also suggested that I do a kidney ablation process.

Many times I told them I feel this is more a matter of "mind over matter" that something in my body over regulates too much causing hypertension (vascular constriction).

I explained that once I fell asleep with my blood pressure meter still on, when I woke up still half asleep I accidentally triggered it and it recorded my blood pressure as fairly normal; 126/83. 10 minutes later after I was fully awake and got up it was already up at 145/95.
Mind over matter?
Something in me triggered it and no, I didn't have any coffee yet!
Later I found out the coffee actually has near zero effect on my blood pressure, at most a few points only.

The half gods in their white coats dismissed all of course.

So not having a medical training by any means, I started my own research and quickly learned that one of the main regulator is a hormone "angiotensin" specifically angiotensin II, a potent vasopressor agent formed from angiotensin I. etc. etc.
None of the medications I to look seem to work even the ACE (Angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors) types. neither calcium channel blocker (CCB) group, neither the beta-blockers, diuretics etc. yada yada yah... 4 different pills each day and no effect, I felt like a walking pharmacy...

So I mentioned that to the pulmonary cardiologist... ...there must be something else going on in my body, there must be something else that works! It was dismissed and I was given yet another medication. (gotta keep that Kaiser profit margin)
Like all before, it had pretty much zero effect. I almost got into an argument with my cardiologist whose ending smiling words were: "if you're so interested in medicine should have become a MD..."

Thank you F***ing very much!

My primary, some constant "no" "quack-in-chief "I eventually changed because everything was always a no. A retired friend with a medical background did little research what would be a good primary to give all a last try and found one and recommended me to sign up with that individual as PCP.

The first time meeting with the new PCP I was asked rightaway why I changed my primary. I said, "let me answer it metaphorically as I don't want to make any [negative] comments about your colleagues."
So I said:

" Imagine you drive a car, one day there's a knocking sound and you call your garage and ask about what to do. Would you want your automotive technician say:

A) don't worry, don't listen to it, that's normal... (like the Mexican who told me the joke "turn the music louder")
OR
B) Just put a thicker oil in the engine...
OR
C) ...Come on over Saturday morning I will have a look at and I'll listen to it so we find the problem and what we can or need to do.

My final words were: "...As a patient I want to be heard not dismissed and ignored!"

I got a silent nod of acknowledgment some checks and then I was prescribed a new medication, yet another, one I never gotten before, an Angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARBs) inhibitor, with the request to stop immediately the one I'm supposed to take in the evening, and gradually phase out the others different pills. That I should measure/monitor my blood pressure a few times a day, record all and report all back and get a blood check after 2 weeks to make sure my potassium levels are not too high as the side effect in certain people is that the potassium levels rise too high.

Can you guess what happened?!

Blood tests after 2 weeks turned out perfect okay AND now my average blood pressure hovers between 120/80 down to 105/60 (!!!) for the first time in a long time!!! WTF!?

What just happened?
Did I finally meet a passionate MD who listens and understands medicine and his patients?

Get a laugh, now I have to be careful with the opposite! Not to stand up too quickly from a crouched, bend over or sitting position as the blood pressure momentarily can drop too low and I briefly get a little dizzy! (It's getting better now as my body seems to adjust to the new normal.)

This new medication was prescribed to me June 1 since then I monitor my blood pressure a few times a day and plotted a chart in Excel and down and down and down it went until it settled around 120/80 - 110/60. The monthly average for July is currently around 115/70.

WOW! WOW!! WOW!!!

Your thoughts? (Pics attached are an early June measurement and one today while writing all this)

New PowerOwl (Amazon) Lithium (single use) batteries defective!

Be aware! Not all off brand batteries are equal!

I discovered that Power Owl AA lithium batteries I purchased in February last year contained a tricky defect the cost me to throw away 2 flashlights and one electric toothbrush for no reason.

The shelf life of single-use AA lithium batteries is typically around 10 to 12 years.
(cool & dry storage).

I used to purchase Energizer brand I never had an issue. But that's not the case with Power Owl as the evidence emerges

First was a flashlight that was dead, so logically replaced the batteries. After it did not light up I assume that the LED died and tossed the light altogether.

Then one morning earlier this year my electric toothbrush did not start. So logically I replaced the two AA batteries. Since it wouldn't start with new batteries I assumed the toothbrush died and bought a new one.

After I put in a new set of power at all AA lithium batteries the new toothbrush would also not start. So I measured the batteries and lo and behold, absolute 0 Volts!

It dawned on me that likely the same thing happened with the devices I tossed out. They very likely were okay but it was the Power Owl batteries that had a defect!

I measured the remaining 4 of the 6 Power Owl batteries I had and two of them had barely 100 mV the other 2 showed a full capacity of around 1.68-1.7 volts nominal.

In other words from the 6 remaining batteries two have absolute 0 V, two have about 100mV and only 2 have the nominal voltage.

So this whole discovery cost me more than just the batteries but also I had to repurchase what I had mistakenly thrown out assuming it was defective!

So now I will start a fight with Amazon as I want at least the purchase cost of these batteries refunded!

(There is also a report out there from Lumafield about lithium battery quality issues, manufacturing defects and supply chain irregularities.)

Why are blue lights so rare on the control panels in the original star trek?

If you watch an old Star Trek episode you will notice that on the bridge [panels] or for example transponder room control panel or any other control panel with lights, you will find predominantly red green and yellow "control" lights but rarely if at all any blue lights.
Why is that?

How to remove the gray folder icons from the bookmarks drop down menus & sub menus?

I want to remove the pointless space waster folder icons in the bookmarks drop down meus and sub menus (Firefox 150). I manged to get rid of the bookmark toolbar folder icons but not the drop down menus and sub menus as you can see in the image.

To me only the folder icons are a waste of space and pointless as there is anyway an arrow on the right side indicationg furnter menu items.

The userchrome code snippets I tried yielded nothing.

As I start to write this it is Tuesday, April 20, 2026 4:06 PM.

I spent well over an hour to finally get into my account...
"K.I.S.S. Principle" (you can look that up yourself what it stands for). PLEASE!

The best part, and that's a fact I have on record, is that the inane AI chat wasted my time extensively! At the end I got the "spit in the face" message:

"As your PayPal assistant, I'm always learning but I'm unable to provide an answer to your question at the moment."

What was my last question?

"Help me find the payment."
