[S2] Idea for an unnumbered LiS game (like Before the Storm) and how it could connect to a potential LiS 3
Hi everyone! I've been thinking about how the franchise handles its timeline and how Square Enix could bridge the gap before making a mainline Life is Strange 3. I wanted to share an idea that I think fits perfectly with the series' DNA and is realistic for development. The Concept: A 4-DLC Anthology (The Diaz Chronicles)Instead of a massive numbered game, this would be an unnumbered bridge-game, just like Before the Storm or The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit. It would focus entirely on the 4 different endings of Life is Strange 2 and consist of 4 independent DLCs/Episodes (about 2 hours each). Each episode corresponds to one specific ending (Redemption, Parting Ways, Lone Wolf, and Blood Brothers). The gameplay wouldn't be about action, but rather a slow-paced, "slice of life" experience (just like Episodes 2 and 3 of LiS 2). It would show a normal, everyday routine after the storm, letting us experience how the brothers are coping with the consequences of our choices. Even though players might start with their own ending, the curiosity factor would drive everyone to play all 4 episodes. How it connects to a future Life is Strange 3:When you boot up the eventual Life is Strange 3, the game could start with a classic questionnaire asking: "Did you play LiS 2? Which ending did you get?"Depending on your answer, the new game would scatter organic easter eggs in the environment for the new protagonist to find, pick up, and react to: Redemption: The protagonist finds a newspaper clipping stating that Sean Diaz was released on parole after 15 years. Blood Brothers: A radio report mentions heavy vigilante activity in Puerto Lobos. Lone Wolf: A forum post on the protagonist's phone talks about an urban legend regarding a "lone wolf" with telekinetic powers near the border. The protagonist would physically pick up the clipping or item, make a voice-over comment about it, and then glue it into their own journal/diary with a handwritten reflection. This keeps the legacy of the Diaz brothers alive without disrupting the new main story.I know some people in the community already consider True Colors to be Life is Strange 3, but to me, it's not. What do you guys think? Would you play an unnumbered anthology like this?
