Went to my ADHD screening and...
I was aware that I had ADHD my whole life but it went untreated. In fact, I'm pretty sure everyone in my immediate family, mother and siblings, has ADHD. I just started college and unfortunately kinda flunked out because I kept forgetting assignments and had no will to study and doing assignments until the last minute so... yeah.
Decided to get a diagnosis for ADHD to see if I could get medicated and also accommodations to help with school.
I forgot about my intake appointment TWO TIMES and I felt so bad!!
I've since made it to the actual assessment part and the provider 100% noted that I have ADHD. Then he brought up the potential to have Autism as well and I was like huh 🧍🏽? He basically said that, from what I told him, some of the things I've been saying were saying were signs of Autism.
He put me through a pre-screening and I got a "high score for it to not be Autism." I'm not sure if I can get an official diagnosis right now since I can't afford it but 🤷🏽.
I told my coworkers about this and they were like "oh yeah, we're not surprised."
Turns out I was not masking as well as I thought I was on anything.
TLDR; Went to my ADHD assessment and was told that there was a high chance I have Autism as well.
