Spike on top of a spike!!!

Im so dumb. I have been in a spike for over a week now because of an exposure to a megaphone. Tonight we went out to dinner and the restraunt was super loud. I had my earplugs in the whole time, now in enhanced spike. I totally fucked myself and now this is going to be my baseline. Darkest spot I have ever been in. FML

Confirmed VSS from Neuro

I went to a Neuro ophthalmologist on Tuesday they ran the gamut of tests and talk to me for a while and said that it is most likely VSS. I don’t know how this happened, but I’m so down over it. It really affects me in the evening in low light conditions. Everything is pixelated.

Makes me sad that I can’t see my children’s faces clearly anymore

It’s been two months. I don’t know how to get used to this without thinking about a 24 seven.

He’s doing an MRI and bloodwork just to rule out other stuff because I have been having a lot of headaches lately and I have a strong history of glaucoma in my family

But this is where I am I don’t know what to do for any support. I feel alone in this battle. I’ve had tinnitus for 10 years, but this is a new internal war in my brain.

Stuck in a cycle

Self diagnosed VSS after normal eye exam. In this for a month. Noticed it one night after couple weeks of studying.

My major symptoms are night vision/ low light static

Always had BFEP and have noticed it on white walls before even during one of my visual field tests before this event happened.

Noticed my eyes just getting my sensitive things and wearing my sunglasses more and also readers

Just so down because of this. I have read the criteria for establishing diagnosis and saw tinnitus on it. I’ve had tinnitus for 15 years from acoustic trauma

Scared to do anything. Miss my old shitty life, where in an even have a couple beers on the 4th and relax. Now I’m scared to do anything

Alcohol and flying

Two part question on this one. A month and for this condition and I have to take a flight next week. Am I at risk for anything? Secondly Does alcohol make VSS worse? I have not touched it but would just love to have a cold beer

I want to live life again but have this roadblock of fear to do anything for it to worsen. Nighttime sucks for me as the entire room is a pixelated mess.

Getting worse?

2 weeks in and I have not seen any improvement in my symptoms, just more awareness of them it feels like I’m losing my mind. I dread the thought of doing anything. I don’t know how to gauge my symptoms compared to others, but I just know that in low light conditions and dark it’s full of static.

I can’t comprehend it or adapt to it. My eyes feel strained and I have a constant headache behind them also because of the summer cold my daughter gave me, but that happened after this.

I don’t know how to move forward and just be.

Mentally spent from this,

Just came back from opthomologist and vision is 20/20, pressure good, 3D retina intact and eyes dialated. Already made my appointment with Neuro as per direction of my eye doc. I know its not worth my time with this going to the appointments but being in medicine, my brain has to rule everthing out. I am just so fucking down because of this. 2 weeks ago I was fine as I can be anyway. Just past my boards for a big certificaiton and going into the summer. Then on the following Sunday, noticed vision was grainy. Fastforward to today, in a dark place. Kids last day of school and I should be celebrating, I could barely get out of bed this morning to tell them to have a good day.

I dont know how to describe what I am seeing. Its not snow like I have seen some people describle but just pixelated vision and in the dark its really pronounced. I can read and see but everthing is just off. I have noticed things over the years like white walls being like this and computer screens but now this is on everything,

I feel like a total POS because of this condition with a lackluster support structure because no one gets its. I have been active posting on here just like when I got my severe Tinnitus some years back but I dont know how I am going get through this one.

Sorry for the rant, much love to all of you

A week in and at rock bottom

A week ago I suddenly developed VSS. My quality of life is in the hole and I don’t want to exist anymore. My low light vision is grainy as fuck very pixelated, hard to differentiate colors. Woke up in the middle of night felt I was blind with static. Couldn’t get out of bed every turn is a rabbit hole and have no support structure

Wtf is this

Was moving in life past few weeks but new studying and reading for a test I took on Friday. This past weekend I went to bathroom before bed and noticed my vision was grainy. Since then I can’t focus on anything. At night in a dark room it’s like static. I went to the eye doctor last month and got a clean bill sort except my pressures were high but not in the glaucoma range.

I noticed I had VSS years ago when lookin lg at the sky but have not noticed this change. Also last week I did get an ocular migraine with aura and my allergies are off the hook with a constant headache above my eyes

How fucked am I?
