Alliance tattoo by Luc Caparoon at No Regrets
Little context!
I’m in my 20s now, and World of Warcraft came out the year I was born. My very first memory is watching my dad play, flying through the Undercity on a bat.
WoW was how I learned how to use a computer, it was the game we couldn’t always have due to money, but whenever we did, I would play and play and play it to no end. As I got a little older and I started experiencing the bad things that earned me my PTSD diagnosis, WoW was my bday gift every year. After the bad stuff would happen, I would go and retreat to Azeroth and play all night until the sun came up. It became my safe place, where I would go to and forget all the terrible things I’d experienced that day. While I may not have enjoyed every expansion, I still continued to play, enjoying my home of Azeroth.
I’ve known since I was a very small child that my first tattoos would be the Alliance and the Horde symbols and as time went on, that idea only reinforced. Now, I’m an adult and I finally got both symbols tattooed on my skin forever. It will always be a reminder of my home and that I was able to make it through those terrible years of my life. It reminds me that I can be strong and get through the tough years to come.
For me, these tattoos are not just about Alliance and Horde, it’s a reminder that I can make it.
That said, I’m really happy with these tattoos. The Alliance hurt like a bitch, but I made it through that too! When I feel down, or like I can’t go on, I can look at these and feel a little better.
I hope you like them! If you don’t like them, just scroll! No need to be mean!
