Rate my 3-Day Banff Itinerary (Late Sept/Early Oct, No-car/Solo, Solo-backpacker style)

Hi everyone, planning a solo trip to Banff from Sept 29 to Oct 1. I won't be driving and will rely entirely on Roam Transit and Parks Canada Shuttles.

I love history, hiking, local culture, and food, and I'm down for a high-intensity/packed schedule ("packed/fast-paced backpacker" style). Here is my draft itinerary, would love to get your feedback/suggestions!

Day 1 (Mon, Sept 29): The Ultimate Twin Lakes Day (Larch Season)

  • Morning: Take the early Parks Canada Shuttle / Roam 8X to Moraine Lake. Hike the Rockpile Trail for the iconic view. If energy allows, do a quick hike up to Larch Valley for the golden fall colors.
  • Midday: Take the Lake Connector shuttle to Lake Louise.
  • Afternoon: Walk the Lakefront Trail at Lake Louise. Optional hike up to Lake Agnes Tea House for the overlook, or grab a coffee at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.
  • Evening: Head back to Banff Town for dinner.

Day 2 (Tue, Sept 30): Peaks, Canyons & Town Vibe

  • Morning: Take Roam Route 1 to Banff Gondola / Sulphur Mountain. Walk the boardwalk to Sanson’s Peak for a 360° view of the Bow Valley.
  • Afternoon: Head back to town, then take Roam Route 9 to Johnston Canyon. Hike the catwalks to the Lower Falls and Upper Falls to see the waterfalls and gorge.
  • Evening: Explore Banff Town (Banff Ave, independent bookstores, local craft shops). Dinner in town.

Day 3 (Wed, Oct 1): Lake Minnewanka

  • Morning: Take Roam Route 6 (or Uber if it's the weekday schedule) to Lake Minnewanka. Stroll along the lakeside trail and stop by Two Jack Lake on the way back to spot some wildlife (bighorn sheep/deer).
  • Midday: Back to town, check out, and grab luggage.

Questions:

  • Since I am traveling solo without a car, am I missing any "must-see" hidden gems that are easily accessible by public transit?
  • Any food recommendations in Banff Town for a solo traveler?

Looking forward to your suggestions, guys❤️

Is it easy to carpool to Yellowstone in Bozeman?

I’ll be in Bozeman from late September to early October. Is it easy to carpool to Yellowstone then? One person. If it is easy, how? It's my first time to been there.
