Hey all,
I’m looking to buy a well loved 98 4runner (250,000m).
I’ve had a look and test drove the vehicle the other night and it seems great, however I do have some concerns around a leaky undercarriage.
It appears to have leaks from the manual transmission or transfer case (I’m no mechanic) and I’m wondering if this is a manageable issue or trouble.
During the test drive it shuttered a lot in 3rd and 4th, but after a few minutes it settle down and didn’t do it again. The owner says it’s always done this and his mechanic didn’t know what the issue would be. They have had a lot of work done in the last couple years with records and are only selling as they’re moving out of country.
