Hey everyone,

I am looking at solar for our place out rural. I am with rimfire and have a quote from them which guarantees a 22c buy back for 4 years.

It seems the installations in the NT are somewhat more expensive than I see around the rest of Aus. It makes the ROI so much longer, 10 years or so and I would expect buy now (or would love) to have a 3-4 year payback.

I'm looking at solar + battery I think, does anyone have any recommendations for non shark type operators that give great service and solid pricing?

I've heard mixed reviews of Taminmin College for a kid going from Junior School to middle school.

Some of the opinions go back many years and others are more recent but there are some commonalities.

- There's a bullying culture especially if you're not originally from the NT

- the vocational aspects are pretty good

- the friendship groups can be very clicky

- it's generally hard for newcomers to the school (even year 7)

I would to love to hear from anyone who has been to the college, is even there now or has kids going (or have gone there) ... The good the bad and the ugly, please let me know any insights...

I'm building a concrete pool, 1.8m deep, 12m long and 7m wide, with a beach type slope from one side to the other (1:7 slope). The pool will be about 600mm above ground. It's not a perfect square, by design.

The concrete will be applied via shotcrete/gunite by some professional people. Since a truck can drive on concrete within 7 days, what would be the drying time enough to fill the pool with water?

I'll ask the concrete guy when I see him but thought I would ask. This is in a very warm climate (30degC).

I have installed ZorinOS on a second Lenovo laptop and spent a bit of time configuring some basic apps so that I can just work. Normal office work type stuff, no video editing, major graphics or anything.

I've had one crash when the laptop went to sleep and did not recover and Ive done nothing about it.

I'm really close to making this my main machine but wondering if anyone has any main things about what to configure for a good work desktop setup. Not necessarily apps, more about power management, wifi etc. so that I can just go and work.
