Last year around April/May while it was storming, a very large main water pipeline burst under our street, it flooded our streets and yards before it was shut off around 10pm that night, 3 streets were affected by the pipeline. The city was nice enough to put us in an Extended Stay hotel and I even upgraded my room to the superior suite, that way we would have a kitchen, fridge and everything else we need while they have the water turned off and fixing the problem. They estimated 2-3 weeks of not being in the house. We had to get a large storage for all of our stuff on the first floor and outside storage shed as well as our 3rd vehicle.

Well the water damage was so extensive to the house and later on we found out the actual foundation, the original 2-3 weeks was extended. In October of last year the government shutdown and the city of Virginia Beach stopped reimbursing us on our hotel bill, so that fell onto us to cover. Around December 3rd, the extended stay hotel informed us that we could only be in their hotel for a set amount of time and we would have to leave on the next pay cycle which would be January 3rd.

I searched for an Airbnb and found one down here at the beach that was 3 bedrooms, the only bad thing is that they only allow 1 vehicle on the property, so we had to put our second vehicle in the storage as well. The Airbnb wasn’t that bad at all, but during the summer and even now, the prices has risen to over $2,800 a month ontop of the storage bill has risen up to $547 a month and our car storage at Oceana Storage has also went up to $168 a month as well. Since May of last year, we have spent over $64,000+ in hotels, Airbnb and storage and I’m pretty sick of this.

Since June I’ve been looking for a 3-4 bedroom house with 2 bathrooms and honestly…? I hate to admit this… but I feel like we’ve been scammed multiple times sadly… The “rental homes” keep asking for us to do “applications” that are usually $50-$75 a person and there are 3 of us. We pay and wait for approval, but we never get approved and we never get any money back. Our credit is good, we owned our house before, everyone in our home works, we bring in over $5,000 a month, no evictions, no one in our residence smokes or drinks and no pets, yet not a single approval? Every property asks that we make 3x the amount of rent they are asking for, that’s fine, we make it, so why no approval yet? We have done atleast 13 different “applications” for these rental homes throughout Virginia Beach and each time it’s around $150-225 an application once all 3 people have turned them in and nothing? So we have spent over $2,500 in just application fees since June and I honestly with every ounce of my soul feel like these are all scams?!?!?!

So I’m thinking of swapping my major corsair ring for the jaguar ring and maybe going 2-piece pikeman’s and 2-piece conquistador?

Would there be a better build for 2 handers possibly?
