My daughter's car has died and won't start without a jump start. Once it's running it'll keep going till it's turned off, but won't start back up, even if I immediately turn the key after switching it off, so the battery is not charging at all. Once I turn the car off after running out for half an hour the battery is at 10 volts, so it's obviously faulty and I'll replace this today. However, when the car is running it's only kicking out 12.35 volts, which I reckon is too low as is expect the alternator to be kicking out roughly 13 to 14 volts. So I'm wondering if the alternator is also faulty and that is what has caused the battery to die. Can anyone give me some advice on this? TIA
