🔊 GuessTheClip — a Heardle-style audio guessing game, but you guess which YouTube video a clip is from

I love daily guessing games (Wordle, Heardle, etc.) so I built one around YouTube audio. You pick a creator, it grabs their real video catalog, and plays a clip from a random video — you guess which video it's from.

You start with just 1 second of audio. Get it wrong or skip, and the clip grows — 1 → 2 → 4 → 8 → 12 → 30 seconds. The challenge is nailing it on the shortest snippet you can.

  • Free, runs in the browser, no download or signup
  • Works with basically any creator (it pulls the real catalog from YouTube)
  • Pre-loaded channels if you just want to jump in

Still actively adding features and channels — would love feedback, bug reports, or "you should add ___" ideas.

I made a free browser game where you guess a YouTuber's video from a short audio clip (like Heardle, but for YouTube)

A while back I got hooked on Heardle, and I thought: why not do the same thing but with videos from a single YouTube creator? So I built it (guesstheclip.com) a free, browser-based game you can play anytime, no download or signup.

How it works:

  • Pick a creator (or play one of the channels already in there).
  • A short audio clip from one of their random videos starts playing.
  • You get a tiny snippet at first — 1 second. Each time you're wrong (or skip), the clip gets longer: 1 → 2 → 4 → 8 → 12 → 30 seconds.
  • Guess which video it's from before the clip runs out.

It pulls the channel's real catalog straight from YouTube, so it works with basically any creator you throw at it.

It's nothing groundbreaking. I'm still adding features regularly. Let me know if you hit any bugs or have ideas to make it better!
