Hey yall,

I'm going to be an incoming freshman this Fall 2026 and I'm planning to commute to Mines since my house is about 15 minutes away from campus. I am wondering if anyone has experience commuting there and whether if you've enjoy it or not.

What are the pros and cons of commuting and is it any different from living in a dorm?

My main concern is that I might miss out on some of the college experience, especially making friends or being part of any events. But at the same time, I am commuting because it help me save money since I come from a low-income family.

I'm looking to replace my airpod 2nd gen (because they kept dying for no reason) and my restricted budget is under 100 dollars. Things that I am looking for is good battery life, good sound quality/bass, ANC (not really important), good build quality, etc. I am also looking for semi in ear or open ear design as I am not a huge fan of the rubber/silicone tips.

I found the Soundcore Liberty Buds on Amazon and I am just wondering if those earbuds are good. If not, could anyone give me other semi in earbuds that are good?
