I Saw EVAN Perform at 2026 KCON LA and It Was MAGICAL...Chef's Kiss

I attended KCON LA for the first time this weekend and saw EVAN perform in person for the first time on Sunday. I flew solo all the way from Florida to watch him perform for 10 or 12 minutes, and I'm so glad I did. It was such a fun and memorable experience.

My most memorable takeaways from EVAN's performance:

  1. Talking to so many EVERs. I was in Section 105, and my entire row was all EVERs...from all over the country. There were so many EVERs in my section in general...of ALL ages. It was so nice to see. We talked, cheered like crazy during EVAN's set, and some even cried (which is 100% understandable).
  2. Seeing EVAN on stage and in person for the first time. The stage went dark after the previous performance, so the arena was a little quieter. Then I looked closer and noticed that EVAN was actually standing on the stage, in the dark, waiting to start his performance. I'm not sure if everyone knew that he was there, but I could definitely tell it was him. And then, the lights went on and it was him! I was not by the stage, but I was pretty close, so I could see him pretty well. It was such a "pinch me" moment.
  3. His performance of 'Overflow'. He opened his set with a really beautiful performance of 'Overflow'. He sounded and looked beautiful. Honestly, magical.
  4. EVAN's speech after he performed 'Overflow'. He spoke in English and seemed sooooo kind. I could tell that he was really nervous, which was really endearing. It was very relatable. It was obvious that he was trying to do a good job with his speech. It gave me a new appreciation for him as a person and a professional.
  5. EVAN's cover of 'As It Was' by Harry Styles. I was not expecting him to cover this song, so it was a huge and really nice surprise. He sounded so good (and so different from his usual sound, in the best way). It also seemed like he was having so much fun performing the song, and the audience loved it! He was electric and magnetic during this performance, and it was so beautiful to see.
  6. My 'Ride or Die' core memory. Personally, I've struggled with liking 'Ride or Die' (for reasons I won't list here because I've mentioned them before), so I was soooo surprised when I noticed that I actually felt a connection to the song and was really excited when EVAN started performing it on stage. For some reason, everything clicked in that moment and I realized that 'Ride or Die' does have a special meaning for me as a fan. It may not be my preferred genre of music, but it still represents the beginning of my experience as a fan of EVAN's solo work. And it also represents the beginning of EVAN's solo career. So, it all came together in that moment at KCon and 'Ride or Die' became a core memory for me as a fan.
  7. Realization that EVAN is genuinely a kind human being who loves people and always wants to do well. To be clear, I never thought that EVAN was not a kind person. I just never realized how kind he actually is, how much he loves interacting with people, and how much of an effort he makes to do well (probably because I've only been a fan for a year and I have not watched a lot of his non-music content). But at KCon and during the Live he did after his performance, he seemed like a very empathetic, kind, sensitive, and hardworking person, which is so so so beautiful to see. I left LA feeling happy and proud to be a fan of a kind person who is also an incredible artist. As an empath and someone who loves people, it felt so nice to see him exhibit some of those "softer" traits, which the world doesn't always appreciate. I really hope he knows how special those traits are.

So, all in all, I left LA so happy that I got to see EVAN in his element in person and inspired to continue to strive for things that make me happy. I'm really looking forward to his album...and seeing him on tour one day, hopefully soon. He's a magical artist, and I hope he knows it.

To everyone else who was there and those who watched online, I hope you had the most fun! I'd love to hear about your own experience watching EVAN's KCON LA special stage...in person or online.

My First Ever Enhypen Concert was 100/10! [Dallas D1]

I flew from Florida to attend the Dallas Day 1 show on July 17th, 2026. It was my first ever Enhypen concert, and second Kpop concert in general. BTS Arirang Tampa was my first ever Kpop concert, so my expectations very very high. I've also been to many non-Kpop concerts.

I was really blown away by Enhypen's overall concert quality, stage presence, and members' personalities. I've been an Engene since August 2025, so I had a pretty good understanding of their online personalities. I knew that they were talented, handsome, and nice, BUT they were all of those three x 10 at the concert.

Some of the things that stood out to me at the concert:

  1. Jungwon is electric. His personality is infectious, and he seems to be so aware of everything going on around him.
  2. Jay's voice is incredible. I knew that he is a strong vocalist, but he was even better at the concert. His confidence was also really evident on stage. He looked like he knew what he was doing. And then, his hair was on another level. He looked sooo good during the entire show. Jaaaay!!!
  3. Jake is even more attractive in person. He looked like a fairy tale prince. His personality is the perfect blend of outgoing and flirty. Also, his voice was ahhhmazing---so airy!
  4. Sunghoon surprised me the most, in the best way. He was so kind and teddy bear like, and full of energy. I could tell that he was trying his best to put on a good show. I was really blown away by him and his energy. He earned so many bonus points with me.
  5. Sunoo has the most beautiful eyes in real life. Also, his hair looked magical. He was always smiling and trying to engage with the audience. I loved his parts in "Knife."
  6. Ni-Ki's efforts to speak in English were so endearing. He sounded so good. He looks exacxtly like he does online---like a supermodel! Out of all the members, I think he pays attention and notices people in the audience the most.

Overall, the show was 100/10. The only regret I have is that I did not get tickets to D2, so I could be more relaxed and take in more of the the show. I feel like time passed so quickly because it was my first Enhypen concert and it felt a little surreal. I was trying to stay composed and take it all in, but I also wanted to capture some moments with my phone. Next time, I'm going to get tickets to at least two shows, if I can.

(Also, I was a little concerned that I would be sad during the concert because Heeseung was my bias before March (I'm also an Ever), but I actually was not as sad. The guys did such an amazing job with all the songs and really bodied all the performances that it was easy to get past the sadness and just enjoy the show. The only tough part was "Moonstruck" because that was the song that made me an Engene, especially Heeseung's vocals in that song. BUT, I got through it and still enjoyed the new version of the song.)

All of that to say, if you have a chance to go see Enhypen in concert, do it! You will have an amazing time. They put on an amazing show.

My Most Honest Review of EVAN’s Solo Debut (after 2+ weeks of promotions)

I'm writing this as an EVER and someone who does marketing for a living. I've been a huge fan of EVAN's/Heeseung's voice for almost a year. His voice is one of my all-time favorites. He is my ult kpop artist.

This post includes my thoughts about EVAN's debut since June 22nd, 2026. It's meant to express praise of EVAN's efforts as a soloist thus far, vent some of my frustrations (constructively), and hear others' thoughts.

EVAN's debut has been a mixed bag for me thus far—with some really great moments and aslo some misses. The throughline of his debut seems to be his deep desire to find and solidify his groove as a soloist. His talent is undeniable, and he’s really good at connecting with the public, but something is still missing. I get the impression that we’re witnessing an artist trying to figure out his signature sound and style in real time, which is both fun and frustrating…it's work in progress.

My MOST Favorite Moments of EVAN's Debut (since June 22nd):

  1. 'Overflow'
    • Beautiful lyrics and overall message. EVAN's vocals are so smooth and soothing. He’s effortlessly flowing and floating throughout the song. Perfection!
  2. W KOREA 'Overflow' Performance Video
    • Everything about this performance video is beautiful. EVAN sounds and looks incredible. This may be his best performance to date. 1,000/10, chef’s kiss.
  3. The fillin’ LIVE BUSKING Performances
    • The setting, the band, the denim-on-denim look were great! EVAN sounded and looked amazing. I really loved his cover of this song. The way he was vibing and moving with the song was so smooth and effortlessly sexy. Perfection.
  4. Leemujin Service EP.222 Guest Appearance
    • EVAN sounded amazing. All of the songs (and the way he sang them) were such a good showcase of his vocals. I want more!
  5. EVAN ARCHIVE : <RIDE OR DIE> Unboxing Live
    • This was one of the cutest lives. EVAN's obvious nervousness was really endearing. He was really excited to share his new music and stories with EVERs, which was so nice to see in real time.
  6. Fandom Name
    • EVER sounds nice and has a beautiful meaning. It's also easy to remember, which is really important from a marketing perspective.
  7. 'Ride or Die' MV Quality and Storyline
    • Putting the song genre to the side, the 'Ride or Die' MV storyline was well done and the overall quality of the MV is really good. It looks like a lot of effort went into it.
  8. 260702 Mnet ‘Ride or Die’ Performance
    • This was EVAN's most confident (solid) performance of 'Ride or Die' in terms of vocals and dancing. He looked a lot less nervous than some of his other performances. He was in his element. He bodied the whole performance.

My LEAST Favorite Aspects of EVAN's Debut (since June 22nd):

  1. Decision to Debut as a Rock/Alternative Artist
    • This would have made a lot more sense had he released a solo album or two in his signature sound first (maybe even included a few experimental songs). Instead, the abrupt switch to Rock/Alternative came across as shocking, rushed, and not well thought-out. It was a missed opportunity to capitalize on his signature sound and loyal fans' hunger to hear his solo songs in that sound. From a marketing perspective, it appeared as if he sacrificed that huge advantage for the excitement of chasing a shiny object (Rock/Alternative). The switch would have made a lot more sense if he no longer wants to do R&B/Pop, but that doesn't seem to be the case based on all his recent interviews. He continues to say that R&B is the foundation of his musical DNA and that he loves the genre. He's also continuing to cover R&B/Pop songs and talk about how he admires the Weeknd, Ne-Yo, and Michael Jackson. I'm not convined that he truly wants to be a Rock/Alternative artist because he's sending out very contradicting messages. I hope he realizes that his love of R&B/Pop music is one of his most unique traits as an artist. He's so good at singing R&B/Pop songs!!!
  2. Debuting as EVAN Instead of Heeseung
    • Evan is a nice name, but it just doesn’t have as much brand recognition as Heeseung. Way more people (fans and non-fans) know who Heeseung is, which is really valuable from a marketing perspective. It’s difficult (and expensive) to become THE Evan in the ocean of so many Evans. Heeseung was already THE Heeseung. He should have capitalized on that, unless he really wants to distance himself from what Heeseung stood for, which doesn’t appear to be the case based on all his recent interviews.
  3. Positioning Himself as a Rookie
    1. It’s cute, but it doesn’t convey confidence and authority as an artist. And, it’s also not accurate, because he’s an experienced and talented professional musician—which is a big positive for him in terms of credibility. For that reason, I was expecting him to debut as a soloist “who has done things and now has something to say about that and where he wants to go from here as a soloist. Who has lived!” He is breaking out on his own, which is exciting, but he’s also doing it as an experienced artist, which commands respect. I was expecting his debut to be both his emancipation and transition to his most authentic self as a soloist. Confidence is sexy, and sexy sells. It makes the target audience think, “I need that in my life,” which is the ultimate goal from a marketing perspective.
  4. Frequent Deviation from Brand Image/Message
    • EVAN debuted as a Rock/Alternative artist, but continues to deviate from that genre/image by putting out R&B/Pop covers, talking about his love of R&B and all the R&B artists who are his role models, leaning heavily into aegyo, and other things that are very “not Rock.” This is a big no no from a marketing perspective. It makes it look like he hasn’t fully committed to the “I’m a Rock/Alternative artist now” message, and it also confuses the public. He’s running the risk of coming across as performative in his efforts to be a Rock/Alternative artist, which can take away from his credibility as an artist.

I say all of this to say:

  1. EVAN’s talent is undeniable and his fans (me included) love him hard. I truly want the best for him. I love his voice, and I hope that he finds his groove as a soloist (hopefully in the R&B/Pop genre).
  2. The debut has been a little less cohesive than expected, with some really great moments and some questionable decisions. Overall, I’d give it 6/10. I’m excited to see what’s next.
  3. I’m hopeful that EVAN and his team will fine tune their marketing strategy to bring more cohesion to his brand. He has the potential to go far with the right strategy in place.
  4. It’s still early. Even though first impressions are really important, he still has room to flesh out what he’s trying to do and land on a more solidified image/sound. I’ll be cheering him on.
  5. I hope that he has the space and opportunity to be the most authentic version of himself as an artist and that he has the professional support to make that happen. Doing anything new is difficult and scary. What he’s doing is admirable.

I'm sure there are things that I may have overlooked in this review/post. I tried to be as objective as possible, but I'm a human and humans are rationally irrational. If you have any thoughts, I'd love to hear them. The only thing that I ask is that we keep the conversation kind and respectful (of me, EVAN, and others). Please do not make disparaging comments about anyone’s character, motives, person, or talent. AND, thank you for reading my long a** post.

First time going to KCON LA and have questions

I'm attending KCON LA on Sun (8/16). I bought the 1DAY ALL ACCESS - SUNDAY P1 ticket and my seat is in Section 105. It's my first time going and I'm a little confused.

If you can help me with any of these questions, I'd appreciate it the most:

  1. Is the "Artist Stage" same thing as the "M Countdown" stage?
  2. Which sections do artists face during the M Countdown performances?
  3. Is Section 105 a good or bad section?
  4. What are "Other Stages" and where are they located?
  5. How will I know when each artist is performing?
  6. Is re-entry allowed?

Any info you can provide will be apprecaited the most.
