eBay Lives are a scam. Sellers need to disclose damage.
eBay Lives are a scam to buyers. Sellers briefly show you items without disclosing damage, or say they're in better condition than they are. eBay doesn't accept returns on these items, so you're typically screwed once you receive it. These sellers will tell you their items are an investment, when in fact, it's quite the opposite. They're just Salespeople. This has been a systemic issue for me across many types of Live shows and sellers, and eBay is not supporting the buyer in this situation. eBay should hold sellers accountable for not disclosing damage.
Jewelry Lives - more often then not, the items are NOT as described, have undisclosed damage, etc. I've bought dozens of items from multiple sellers and this is unfortunately the case with 70% of my purchases. Also, for items above $500, eBay authentication is NOT included. I could list specific sellers, but I've purchased from at least two sellers and both times asked for returns due to undisclosed damage or the item not being what they said it was. Examples: a ring missing a tiny diamond side stone. Wonky shaped rings. "Type A Jade" earrings that were actually Chrysoprase. Selling an "18k" ring that tests at 15k. And a "natural diamond" jewelry seller who sold me an item with lab stones.
Handbag Lives - after receiving a Gucci bag that REEKED of perfume and that was not disclosed, I decided never to buy a bag through a Live again.
Gemstone Lives - probably the biggest waste of time and money. They sell you stones that are cracked, chipped, and low quality (poor color, opacity, inclusions, etc) but pitch them as really great quality. DO NOT BUY GEMSTONES FROM eBAY LIVES. You'll never be able to sell them for what you paid.
Fashion Lives - damage is often not disclosed, they don't always provide measurements, and again, no returns.
Maybe some buyers don't care about this stuff. But I would think most people would be frustrated when they item they bought on a live turns out to be junk they can't return.
