I received this message on reddit from an r/AITAH post. I’m drunk right now but I feel bad for this guy. My inhibition is obviously bad so i need help
We’ve been dating about 6 years now, she knows I’ve been around guns and violence frequently in my past. I’m not a paranoid person, but i’m vigilant 100% of the time and keep a “look over your shoulder” mentality. I’ve had this specific firearm for around 8 years and she doesn’t know about it. I keep it unloaded, in a metal tackle box in my closet. We have no children or pets, and I just don’t see the purpose in telling her. Throwing knives make her nervous, even though I’ve thrown knives my entire life since I was little, and I always do it in a controlled space. So I can’t imagine how she would react knowing there is a gun in our bedroom, especially with my past.
