Is this fixable with putty and wood filler?

As titled, is it possible to fix this crack with putty and wood filler? I ask because the two cracked parts are no longer level ie the area above the crack is indented, ie sitting a few mm further back than the wood below.

I'm mindful there may still be signs of damage but wondering if a putty and wood filler job would improve appearance? Any advice on making this work? Thanks in advance

Rattling Sleigh Bell Sound after Front Brake Pad and Discs Replaced

Citroen C1 2013 998cc

I brought my car in for a front brake pad and disc change on Friday. All seemed in order until I was driving with the window down and heard a rattling sound, I have tried to attach a video but the upload has failed. It is coming from both front wheels as when I drive with both windows open I can hear two different rattles. The fact it's both sides and not one makes me think it's a problem with the parts, rather than the fitting, could this be the case? The rattling doesn't happen when the car is in reverse. I have driven only maybe 8 miles since getting the pads changed. In the last mile I couldn't hear the rattling anymore, but this may have been because the wind picked up/town got busier...

I will bring the car back to the mechanic when they open tomorrow, but I appreciate any suggestions for what this could be, whether this is a normal 'breaking in' sound or something to be concerned about. Thanks in advance!
