[PC][1990-1998] Rainy mysterious island

My dad used to play a game on PC that keeps coming up in my memory and I cant seem to find it.

There was a mysterious island. It starts off where you are dropped on this island unconscious and you wake up and have to explore the island. It had a 3rd person/ birds eye perspective. It could have been point and click, but it may have also been using directional keys. The overall vibe of the game is dark, cloudy, danger around every corner. The nature of the game was solving a mystery, looking for items, doing puzzles. (maybe trying to get off the island or find a missing person?)

At one point there was a gap you had to cross from one side of a cliff to another, but you had to search for the rope to do that.

If anyone has any clue I'd be very appreciative to know what it was and put my mind at ease.

I did the thing

TOTK is my favorite, not saying its the best. I really liked the physics of the game. The shrine puzzles were alot of fun. Also, I like the three layers of the map compared to BOTW.

Overall though I lean toward multiplayer experiences.

The games I havnt played that I suspect will make the list once I've played them: Elden Ring, Baldurs gate 3, RE Requiem.

Also runescape having the best music is a bit facetious. The category should be called the most memorable music. Ive played games with better music, but when I try to think about it all that plays in my head is runescape music.
