The whistleblower who exposed current Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick's ties to Jeffrey Epstein, Simon Andriesz, has passed away, reportedly from him taking his own life.
The exact cause of his passing hasn't been reported. He had made a post a month earlier about about how the consequences of his whistleblowing were devastating to his family and himself.

34M. My Favorite Games of Each Year.
A couple of my thoughts going through this exercise:
My taste in games in pretty mainstream.
It was pretty hard to choose just one game in certain years. Honorable mentions to Bioshock in 2007, Super Mario Galaxy 2 in 2010, The Witcher 3 in 2015, Hollow Knight and Super Mario Odyssey in 2017, God of War and Dead Cells in 2018, Sekiro in 2019, Hades in 2020, and Blue Prince, Silksong, and Ghost of Yotei in 2025. All of these are on my all-time list and just had the unfortunate timing of being released the same year as another all-time favorite.
2017 was an absolutely stacked year with Breath of the Wild, Hollow Knight, Super Mario Odyssey, Horizon Zero Dawn, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Nioh, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, What Remains of Edith Finch, and Assassin's Creed Origins. Probably the deepest bench I've seen.
2022 and 2025 are the two other years that give 2017 a run for their money with Elden Ring, Horizon Forbidden West, God of War Ragnarok, Marvel's Midnight Suns, Sifu, Vampire Survivors, The Stanley Parable: Ultimate Deluxe, Neon White, Stray, and You Suck at Parking in all in 2022 and Kingdom Come Deliverance II, Blue Prince, Silksong, Ghost of Yotei, Oblivion Remastered, Hades II, Borderlands 4, Death Stranding 2, and The Rogue Prince of Persia all in 2025.
On the flip side, 2009, 2014, 2016, and 2019 felt like relatively weak years without as much deep competition as other years.

I need to rant about silksong.
Don't get me wrong in no way, shape, or form is silksong bad its the bosses. They are so tedious the last judge especially I did the math a while back and with the first needle upgrade, which could easily be missed, it would take 80 hits to kill that hellspawn while the maximum you could take is three. A bigger health bar will not make a boss better or harder, all it does is make it take so much longer. And that runback made me quit the game.
