Tell me your favorite video game and I will suggest you a game
Bonus points if you give a brief description of why you love it.
Recommend me a game I've never heard of
I'm looking to expand my horizons in gaming. I've played quite a few games, and heard of even more. I could still learn more though. I'm looking for some real niche games, but also ones that I'll love. For some insight, here are some games I've played that I adore:
Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward - I love games that have a batshit insane story. Like ones that have you saying "there's no way they tie all this together" thirty minutes before a game ends. And I love puzzles even more than that. Also mentioning Danganronpa here because I love it for all the same reasons
Sanabi - Fun 2D platforming. Gut-wrenching story. Beautiful artwork. Not more complicated than that.
Pseudoregalia - 3D platformer mixed with Metroidvania. The movement is so satisfying and the exploration is very rewarding. The thing I like most about this game is that you can be skillful enough to eliminate needing some progression items, which I think is unique. You ask yourself "could I make that jump" a lot and the answer is usually yes.
1000xResist - walking simulator but it's another case of batshit insane story. Very emotional, very thrilling, and even more thought-provoking. It's just impeccable.
Neon White - I like the artstyle, and the story is kinda decent, but the gameplay is where this really shines. The interaction between gun usage and movement abilities being tied to the same mechanic is very unique. I used to grind for records on the individual levels for hours on end. Very nice game to chill out with.
Milk Inside a Bag of Milk Inside a Bag of Milk - it's short, but I related to it a lot. I wasn't expecting to relate to it, so it made me think a lot about myself. In short, I like when games present issues that are applicable outside the world of the video game.
Go ahead, please tell me some games that I have never heard of. I purposefully chose some lesser-known games for the above section so you have an idea of where my knowledge lies. I look forward to look into some of these answers.
Platforms: PC, Switch 2
What are some games you think are perfect 10/10s?
In no specific order.
In other words, games that do exactly what they set out to, with little to zero flaws. Or at the very least, flaws that are forgivable from the quality of the rest of the game.
I tried (emphasis on tried) to put my bias aside and rank some games based on what I thought were almost flawless games. Obviously I can't put my bias aside fully, because I can only rate games I've played which favors my own tastes; however, games like the Last of Us, Mario Odyssey, RDR2, or Disco Elysium don't even breach my top 50, but I can't deny they are beautiful games that have a vision, and execute it almost perfectly.
Everyone always talks about the best games ever. Well, drop what game you played that was genuinely horrible.
Thought long and hard about these choices
Please don't hate me for Half-Life, too many people dog on me for it already lmao
Tell me your favorite game and I will tell you what to play next
I can't know everything, so sometimes I'll just go off vibes. Don't take it too seriously
Looking for a game that has an emotional/rich story
I love games that have a complex and meaningful story. For some time now, I have been trying to reach the highs that some other games have given me, but I just can't seem to find any that fill the void. I feel like I've tried everything out there, so maybe someone here can show me something new. So please, recommend me any games that you have personally been touched by.
For context, here are some of my all-time favorites
Omori (and things like LISA, Earthbound, Undertale, Deltarune, OFF, etc.): the only game to ever make me cry. I love turn-based JRPGs, unique environments, and emotional stories. This was all of that wrapped into one.
Zero Escape Trilogy: Not sure if many people have heard of this one. It's a visual novel that includes lots of cool puzzles (I love puzzles). The story was one of the most wild things I have ever experienced bar none. It always kept me guessing and on my toes, which I loved.
Nier Automata (I've also played replicant): One of the most touching games I have ever played. I love everything about it
Outer Wilds (and similarly Return of the Obra Dinn): I love the environmental storytelling. Somehow this game manages to make you emotional despite having no cutscenes and very little character dialogue. Not many other games try this approach
Kingdom Hearts Series: Not my favorite in terms of story, but I'm including it for a bit of variety. I do enjoy piecing together a seemingly nonsensical story that somehow includes Mickey Mouse and Cloud Strife in the same universe. So if you have any games that are kinda wacky and convoluted, I'm very open to those as well.
I'm willing to play pretty much anything so long as the story is compelling enough. I have a PC and a Switch 2, so anything for those systems would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Link me some of your favorite video game music and I will rate it 1-10
My top 25! What do you think?
I only allowed myself one entry per franchise because otherwise this would be a list of my favorite Zelda games in order lmao
My Favorite Games From Each Year
I tried not to overlap franchises, but some games were too important that I ended up doing it anyways lmao
My top 25! What do you think?
bonus if you can guess my age
Favorite Game by Letter
Couldn't make it a proper square so I just added 4 spaces that are dedicated to games starting with numbers instead
