Grace & Grit — Conversation No. 5: Boundaries

Grace & Grit — Conversation No. 5: Boundaries

Boundaries are not just about saying no. They are about knowing what we are willing to accept, what we need from others, and what we need to stop explaining or apologizing for.

Sometimes the hardest boundaries are the ones we have to set with people we care about most. And sometimes the real challenge is not setting the boundary at all—it is holding it when guilt, history, or emotion makes us want to bend it.

What boundary took you the longest to learn how to set?

Do you find it harder to set boundaries with people you love than with everyone else?

There are no right or wrong answers—just thoughtful questions and honest conversations.

Be real. I’ll meet you there.

Good morning, Lounge! ☀️

Rise and shine… big stretch. 😌
Coffee first, obviously. ☕

How are we waking up this morning?

Are we smiling?
Are we functioning? 😂
And most importantly… how productive are we planning to be today?

Full-on getting-things-done mode? A few little things and then relaxing? Or are we proudly accomplishing absolutely nothing?

Whatever you decide to do, do it well — and have a fabulous Sunday! 💛☀️

Lounge Check-In 💬

We’re looking at making a few little changes along the way, and we’d really like to hear from you, our members.

What are you enjoying most right now? Is there anything you’d like to see changed, added, or tried?

Maybe you’d like:

- different or refreshed theme days

- more games and fun prompts

- more conversation and discussion posts

- something completely new we haven’t thought of yet

And if there’s something you’d like to see more of — or less of — tell us that too.

We can’t promise every suggestion will make its way into the Lounge, but we’d genuinely love to hear your ideas and see what our members are enjoying.

So… what would you like to see next in the Lounge? 👇

You all gave me an idea… 👀 For Snapshot Saturday tonight, let’s see your builds!

LEGO, models, miniatures, big builds, tiny builds, finished projects or works in progress — whatever you’ve created, show it off. 🧱📸

Let’s see what you’ve been building!

And if someone wants to launch a model rocket and record it. Bring it! 😉

Talk Tuesday

EDIT: Just to clarify, this family doesn’t live close to me, but I do want to help them when and where I can. It’s been really helpful hearing other people’s experiences because I honestly don’t know yet how to navigate this or what I can do to help. And I’m not going to lie, I’m a little scared too. I may not respond to every comment individually, but please know I’m reading them all and truly appreciate the advice, perspective, and support. Thank you, guys. ❤️

I recently learned that someone very dear to me has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, and I’m still trying to understand what this new normal may look like.

I don’t know if anyone here has walked this road with a parent, auntie, uncle, partner, or someone else close to them, but I imagine many of us are beginning to face some of these realities as the people we love get older.

How have you navigated it — emotionally, practically, or even from a distance? And what do you wish you had known at the beginning?

Grace & Grit — Conversation No. 4 - Trust

Trust is not something I give easily. For me, it is built slowly through honesty, consistency, and actions that match the words being spoken. But once someone has earned it, I care deeply and show up wholeheartedly.

What helps someone earn your trust?

Do you trust easily, or does someone have to prove themselves over time?

There are no right or wrong answers—just thoughtful questions and honest conversations.

Be real. I’ll meet you there.

What’s everyone getting up to today? Relaxing, errands, family time, something fun… or absolutely nothing? 😄

🚗 Road Trip Adventures Continue — Part 8

We finally found food. Eventually. 😂

Back on the road and feeling confident again... until someone notices the road signs look a little different.

Uh-oh... 😳
